I love leftovers + back in my routine + giving yourself grace.

I had another busy day yesterday trying to get caught up from being gone. I was SO dang sore from our backpacking, so I decided to use the day as a rest day. I’m thankful I did! I woke up feeling back to normal this morning. I only had one meeting yesterday, so I spent the rest of the day working on a manuscript and doing some things for my classes. I took a lunch break after my meeting and had some leftovers – a shrimp taco and some fried pickles.

I worked until dinner, which felt good because I got SO much accomplished. By the time I stopped to eat, my brain was fried. Dinner was more random food – fish filets and leftover butternut squash casserole.

Rhea likes to chew her antlers on the wood floor, which I’m sure is loud for the people below us, so I always move her to the carpet. I think she has finally learned! I wish all apartment dwelling people thought about the people who lived below them…cough cough to the jerks who live above us. I’m done with apartment life! We have two months left, thank goodness. So ready to be out of here.

I you like peanut butter, try Skrewball whiskey. It’s the perfect after dinner sweet drink.

Our girls have both been so worn out since our trip. I think Lu slept 20 hours yesterday. She woke up to get some cuddles after dinner.

We crawled into bed around 8PM and watched a little Netflix. My crazy husband picked up THREE shifts from Thursday to Saturday, so I won’t really get to see him until Sunday night. I love his drive, but we miss him when he works a ton.

Rhea girl and I knocked out 5 miles this morning. I am thankful I used yesterday as a rest day – I wasn’t sore at all when I got up this morning!

After I take time off running, I always reset my watch and my accomplishments. I had a new goal after my run this morning, a fastest mile. This is definitely not my fastest mile ever, but I’m pretty dang out of shape right now, so I’ll take it. I’m trying to give myself some grace, but it’s easy to get down on yourself when you’re not where you want to be. I know after all of the things my body went through with our IVF that it’s just going to take some time. I am not a patient person, so I’ve been praying for a little extra patience right now. Soooo, while it’s not where I want to be, I am staying positive and I am excited to see this!

Breakfast was an egg and spinach scramble, a spicy veggie patty, and a waffle. YUM.

I have all the meetings today – 9, 11, 12, and 2. I am hoping to be able to knock out a little work in the pockets of time between meetings – we will see how things go!

Happy Friday, friends!
