On Friday before we left, my sister watched Coop for me while I headed to one more PT session. She sent me this picture of him snoozing in their bed.
We finished packing, got the car loaded, and hit the road! Neither of us had any clue what to expect in traveling with a six month old, so we had zero plans and decided to just take our time getting to Salina, KS, which was about a five hour drive.
I don’t know how we got so lucky, but Coop is an amazing traveler. We had packed some bottles and my pump, but I just ended up nursing him in his car seat. It was easier than bottles and dirtying my pump. Coop ate about very hour and half, would take a nap, then wake up to play. He followed that schedule the entire trip. We still have to get back home, so I don’t want to jinx it, but he did so so great.
We stopped for dinner at a truck stop – sandwiches and chips. Yum.

Then it was back in the car to finish the first leg of our trip – we had about 45 minutes to Georgetown, which is where we are staying for the first half of our trip.
We made it to our Airbnb, stopped in to say hello to some friends who live in the area, then headed to dinner.
When your parents haven’t given you solid food yet…gnaw on the table for practice. We will start solids when we get back home!

Jake headed out for a long trail run Sunday morning, so Coop and I were lazy and soaked up a slow morning.
Once Cooper went down for a nap, I unpacked our clothes. If we stay somewhere longer than two days, I always unpack our suitcases.
Coop didn’t have a dresser in this room, so I laid everything out on the extra bed. This way I can see what I packed for him.
Once he woke up, we headed out for a short walk. My back is still bothering me, so I’m trying to take it easy. Why is he so dang handsome??

We grabbed dinner Sunday night with our friends Dwayne, Bettina, and their son Graysen. We always have the BEST time with these people. We are soaking up our time with them!

I have one more rest day before attempting a run. I am trying to stay positive, but messing up my back has really bummed me out. I had wanted to go on lots of trail runs out here and enjoy exploring on our bikes. Trying to be thankful that we are here as a family and getting to enjoy CO and all the people that we love out here. Praying I am able to race Saturday.
