Weekend Wrap-up!

Lots of puppy cuddles on Friday while I knocked out some computer work. We were cold, so we stayed in bed to work. It was really relaxing! And I was surprisingly productive.

Lunch was a wrap with Sriracha turkey, blueberry goat cheese, and Sriracha. It was delicious.
Jakes Nanny, Wynona, gave him some of these last year for Christmas. I found them in our pantry! Unfortunately, they were stale (obviously, they’re almost a year old) but these are SO good.
So, I went ahead ate finished off this bag of chocolate…
Still getting all the puppy cuddles…I don’t think I could feel my legs at this point. They were both laying on them.
Jake brought me this beautiful bouquet – I LOVE fresh flowers. Does anyone know what that red stuff is?? It kind of looks like it came off of a bush or something. I love it and want to plant some!
Jake had dinner plans with his Dad, so I ate at 5 PM. It was amazing. I had leftover pesto parmesan chicken and some beet noodles. I ate the ENTIRE package of beet noodles. No joke.
Then I had a glass of wine with Olivia while I got caught up on Scandal.
Eventually, I met up with these pretties for a drink. We all showed up wearing plaid. That’s how you know you’re real friends!
Then it was up Saturday to run! I had planned on getting 8 miles in, but I left the house in shorts and a t-shirt with no hat. About half a mile into my run, the temperature dropped and it started raining. I was FROZEN. I had to make a bathroom stop about halfway through and it was REALLY tough to start going again after I had warmed up a little. I ended up getting 7, but I couldn’t make myself go one more mile.
It was a super gloomy day.

Oh, here are my flowers in their vase! I love them. If you know what those red things red, please let me know!
When I got home from my run, I cleaned our bathrooms and did a leg circuit. Then my family came over and we went to lunch! Jake was in Arkansas doing some mountain biking with some of his guy friends! They had a BLAST. My Dad took this selfie for us and he used the PopSocket on my phone. I was SO proud!
I had the BLT and some tomato bisque soup. It was delicious.
After lunch, I came home and got some puppy cuddles, then dusted and vacuumed. It felt good to get the whole house clean!
Then I watched a little Scandal and did some more weights. Oh, and ate oyster crackers. That’s not weird, right? I love them!
Then I needed another little snack. Those olives are stuffed with garlic and jalapeño – they’re SO good! Jake’s parents got them for us and we love them.
I had dinner plans with some girlfriends – we were going to Green Thicket Farm to enjoy their last meal of the year. It’s a farm to table experience and I had been wanting to go FOREVER. I had been cold all day ever since my run, so I threw on the comfiest turtleneck ever and got ready for some girl time!
Here’s the menu – and yes, it was as incredible as it sounds.
Here’s the adorable little set-up. You can bring your wine, too!
We started out with this delicious bread and an herbed butter. SO GOOD.
This was one of my favorites. It was a carrot taco. The tortilla was made out of chestnuts. It was incredible.
This was arugula polenta – it was a little salty for me (I don’t ever add salt to anything, so I’m weird about it), but it was still good! The people next to us LOVED it. It came with goat cheese, which was delicious.
This. Was. AMAZING. Butternut squash ravioli. Holy yum.
This was rabbit, herb stuffing with their homemade bread, and flash fried kale. It was delicious, as well!
We ended the night with pumpkin pie bombs. The crust is my favorite part of a pie, so I was pumped about this. It was awesome. The homemade whipped cream was perfect.
Guys, they had baby goats there! I was ecstatic and only tried to steal one of them a few times…
We had an absolute blast! Thank you, Lori, for inviting me! I cannot wait to go again. And yes, I am still holding the baby goat…
After our amazing dinner we met our fellas, who had just gotten back into town, and Caitlin, Kayla and Wade for a drink!
Sunday morning, we had family pictures with Jake’s family. Brandi, the photographer (and our good friend) took the pictures. She’s the same amazing photographer who took our engagement photos. I had to share another one!
I snacked on this before we left. This might just be my new favorite yogurt!
We took pictures at the new Cast Co-workspace in Farmer’s Park. It was beautiful! How cool are those lights?
Family picture fun with my future SIL! <3
After pictures, we went to Vespa, where I got my usual – Eggs Benedict. It’s SO good. Probably my favorite Eggs Benedict here in town.
After we ate, we went home to relax for a little bit before my family did their photos. I think my cheeks are still sore from smiling so much! As we were walking to pictures, we walked by this awesome wall art, so I HAD to take a picture.
We took my family pictures at the Hotel Vandivort. Every time we go there, we have to take a selfie in the bathroom – it’s a thing here in Springfield!
After pictures, the people who bought my parent’s old house invited us over to see it now that they are finished with the remodel. Holy cow. It seriously didn’t even look like the same house on the inside. It was crazy. They have done an amazing job. I love that they let us come look at it! This is the only picture I got – I didn’t want to be a TOTAL creeper, but the inside is beautiful.
Then it was off to dinner with everyone – we went to Great American Taco Company. I had a naked Hawaiian Tuna taco – they put all the taco stuff on top of half an avocado. It’s delicious!
We finally got our Chromecast set up! We have just been watching stuff on our laptops. It was time to use our dang TVs.
We watched Bloodline and cuddled with our angels.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I’m putting the finishing touches on my presentation for next week and then meal prepping. I think I’m going to do a rowing circuit later, so that will be good!
What did you do this weekend?
Any races/long runs/good runs/other sporting events happen over the weekend? I’d love to hear about them!
