This weekend flew by. We didn’t have any crazy plans, so I thought we’d have lots of downtime and get a lot accomplished. Neither thing happened, which always seems to be the case when we have a semi-free weekend. I need more hours in the day! Anyone else feel that way, too? We did get lots of play time with this little goofball, so that was wonderful.

Big fan of shredded cheese…
Not a big fan of mom folding laundry when he wants to be nursed.
Still trying to cut down on the number of nursing sessions. We’re taking it super slow.
I had a last-minute dissertation meeting get scheduled for Friday afternoon, so I attempted to read a little bit of a student’s dissertation proposal before that…sometimes working from home looks like this. Coop is usually pretty content to play in his playpen, which I’m thankful for when I have to get something finished.
Jake came home a little early to watch Coop during my meeting, then we headed out to grab a beer for St. Patrick’s Day at Great Escape. I love how Coop is eyeing my beer in this picture. Ha!
Jake got dinner put together while I put Coop to bed, then we had a little date night in and watched a movie. It had been FOREVER since we’d gotten to do that! We watched a new Netflix movie called, “Your Place or Mine”. It was so cute. Highly recommend! We watched half Friday night and finished the other half Saturday night.
We got to have a trail date Saturday morning! I had a three hour run to knock out, so Jake switched his days around and ran long with me. We dropped Coop off at my parents’ house and headed to Busiek. We had the best time!
I ended up rolling my ankle on a rock about an hour into our run. It immediately dropped me to my knees and I started crying. I was mostly pissed about it and it really hurt, but Jake encouraged me to keep walking and I was able to eventually run again. It was tender off and on the next two hours, but I was able to get my whole run in.
Rhea joined us and lived her best life getting absolutely filthy.
Post three hour run smiles!
We ended with a little over 13 miles for the day. I was hoping for closer to 15, but we hiked a little after I twisted my ankle, so lost some time with that. Overall, I felt good about this run.
LOVED getting to spend three hours with Jake!
After our run, I went back to my parents’ house and we had lunch together. Jake headed to AR to pick up Rhonda, our new adventure van! We’ve been looking into vans for a LONG time and Jake finally found this one. I can’t wait to share how we build it out for adventuring. Now to find the time to tackle this project AND finish remodeling our house…ha!
Our first family photo in Rhonda!
This kid refused to nap longer than 20 minutes on Saturday, but he is obsessed with the foam flooring in his playpen, so there’s that.
A little Sunday morning Ms. Rachel watching with sloth while I cleaned up the kitchen after breakfast. I love his arm around his sloth.
Morning nap snuggles. This kid will nap for two hours if being held. If he’s in his crib, he’ll only nap 20-30 minutes. Now that his nighttime sleep is solid – he sleeps from 7-6 every night – we are going to start working on crib naps. I LOVE the snuggles, but sometimes I need to knock out a little work and using his nap time would be perfect so we can just play when he is awake. We’ll see how that goes!
His shirt says, “Yes, I know I look like my daddy”. Haha! I saw it and had to get it.
Leftover Chinese food – always delicious!
Coop uses his walker to sprint all over our house. It’s hard to keep up with him! Especially after a big run day…
We always do dinner with Jake’s family on Sunday nights. Coop was very unhappy about leaving last night. He loves stacking blocks with his Ganny.
I ended up skipping my recovery run Sunday because my ankle was pretty sore and puffy, but it’s feeling much better today! Fingers crossed it feels even better for my Tuesday run.
I call this the Ms. Rachel daze. Ha! Coop watches a little Ms. Rachel after breakfast while I clean up the kitchen most days. He gets so excited when I turn it on, and he has already learned so much from her. She’s amazing! I love to watch it with him so I can keep teaching him the different things she‘s doing.
I am on spring break this week! Wahoooo! I still need to do a little bit of work, but I’m hoping Coop and I can do lots of fun things together.
Happy Monday, friends!
