I woke up feeling better! FINALLY. I have no clue what I had all last week, but it was no fun. I took multiple Covid tests and they were all negative, so it must’ve just been a really bad cold like I thought, but it was awful. Thankful I’m on the other side of it!!
Jake had a huge racing weekend, so we headed to AR Friday night. Since I wasn’t feeling great, Coop and I stayed away from Jake all weekend and just stayed holed up in our Airbnb, but we were still glad to be with Jake. This kid is so good on car trips. He’s probably a better traveler than I am…ha!

Coop slept in his pack and play in one of the bathrooms all weekend and it worked perfectly. He woke up around 3:30am the first night, so I got up with him and we played a little bit, then he went right back to bed until 8am. The second night, he slept from 7-7! He’s crushing his night times. Naps are another story, but as long as he’s sleeping solid at night, I don’t care about days! His pack and play was also perfect for corralling him whenever I needed to do something at the Airbnb and couldn’t hold him.
This is our last month of breastfeeding. I have shared a little bit before that we want to try and do our second (and last) transfer for IVF this summer. In order to do so, our clinic wants me to wean by May. Sooooo, that’s what we’re doing. I know it’s going to be hard on both of us. We are down to only nursing three times a day, but the morning and last session of the day are going to be so hard to quit. I can’t believe we’ve gotten to do this for so long. I’m beyond thankful.
The most perfect boy.
Our Airbnb had the cutest porch, so we hung out on it during the day. There was some construction going on next to our place, which Coop LOVED.
This kid makes friends wherever he goes, just like his daddy!
Sometimes ya just need to sit in the sunshine and enjoy a beer.
Saturday, Jake had a 60 mile gravel bike race. Sunday, he had a trail marathon (running – 26.2 miles). He did amazing both days! We’re so proud of him. I hated not being able to be at his races, but I did not want to risk getting anyone else sick.
Coop loved climbing in and out of the cabinets at our Airbnb. Ha!
We had a lazy weekend, but it was the best. It’s hard to be sick with a toddler, but any time Coop would nap or want to snuggle, I took him up on it!
Sometimes you just need to rock two hats.
Here’s Jake with his coach, Cliff, after his marathon on Sunday. Fun fact: my coach and Jake’s coach are married – they’re the best people and we’re so thankful for their friendship and their guidance as we train.
After Jake’s race, we packed everything up and headed for home. We stopped in Bentonville for a quick late lunch. Coop wanted to match his daddy with sunnies and a hat.
Just shoving puffs in his mouth. Ha!
The coolest kid.
Happy Monday, friends!
