Baby monitoring + sleeeepy + yum!

I am so thankful to be pregnant in the winter. I am basically living in comfy, baggy sweats and Uggs.

On Wednesday morning, we had our first weekly monitoring appointment. They hooked me up to two monitors, one for the baby and one for contractions. They said they wanted to see two accelerations of the baby’s heart within 20 minutes. They came in after about eight minutes and said that baby seemed a little sleepy, so they had me drink some apple juice. That woke him up right away. I don’t think he liked the monitors because he started kicking at them super hard. He passed this monitoring with flying colors!

After that monitoring, we had an ultrasound. During this scan, they measured baby boy’s head, belly, legs, and my amniotic fluid. They also checked out some of his organs. Everything is looking great, which I am so so thankful for. Cooper’s head was measuring at 39 weeks…I was almost 36 weeks. He is still breach, but after hearing that he has a big head, maybe a C-section would be the best route…HA! I love that we will do both of these things every week until he’s here.

This is my first week back to work after winter break. I don’t teach again until March, so I am just attending meetings, answering emails, and trying to work ahead a little bit. I only had three meetings this week, so that has been nice to kind of ease back into things. Once Cooper is born, I will go on maternity leave until my classes start in March. Dinner Wednesday night was more gnocchi with meat sauce. I love this meal. Jake’s plate was definitely prettier than mine.

Mouths full of banana cake. We polished off the rest of the cake last night. I am sad it is gone.

While I was doing kick counts Wednesday night before bed, Rhea decided to snuggle with us. Sometimes she will set her head on my belly and Cooper will kick it. It always makes me laugh.

I have been enjoying PB&Js this week for lunch. They’re so delicious.

I was super worn out all day yesterday. I tried to knock out a couple things around the house and spend a little bit of time on my computer, but after completing a few things on my to do list, Lulu and I crawled onto the couch for a nap.

Dinner last night was ground beef and black bean tacos with Spanish rice. These were delicious.

Baby boy is 36 weeks today, which is 9 months. So hard to believe we are in the home stretch. <3 I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday, friends!
