Waking up from naps is tricky…it always takes Coop a few minutes to fully wake up. I am the same way. If I take too long of a nap, I will wake up super cranky and I instantly regret taking a nap.

After Coop’s nap, we headed out for my recovery run. We ran to a coffee shop to meet one of my friends who was in town for the week. It was a little chilly out, so I used the weather protector for the stroller and Coop stayed nice and toasty!
He discovered that he can look up at me through the top of the stroller, so that was hilarious. He would look and smile and start giggling. It was precious.
There was a bunch of water over the trail, but it was our only option, so I crossed it barefoot. I sent this picture to Jake because I knew he’d be proud.
Jake reminded me of one of my favorite snacks, so I started making it again this week. Greek yogurt, frozen berries, oats, chia seeds, and honey. YUM.
My tiny teaching assistant helped me grade finals this week. He takes his work very seriously.
While I made dinner Wednesday night, Jake studied and Coop watched a little Ms. Rachel.
Our dang AirFryer started going out in the middle of cooking dinner. Jake fixed it so I could finish, but I was pretty sure everything was going to explode. It didn’t, but we had to throw this bad boy out. Now we need to find another one…
Dinner was chicken tenders, veggies, and salad.
After dinner, I needed to do a little bit of work, so Coop and Jake played. Jake sent me this picture…Cooper has now started to climb up on everything, so we really have to watch him.
Thursday morning started with breakfast and then a little playtime. Coop loves all my plastic kitchen stuff.
Morning nap time snuggles. This kid hasn’t been sleeping great the past two nights. He isn’t acting sick, so I think it’s either teething or a sleep regression, but we TIRED. He was doing SO great in his crib, so I’m praying this is a short phase.
I had a tempo run on Thursday. It’s been super rainy here all week, so I had to do it on the treadmill. My workout was definitely far from ideal, but I got it in. I had to take multiple breaks for various things. I needed to nurse Coop at one point, then my boss called and needed to have a quick meeting with me, so I had to hop off again for that. I got it all in eventually, so that was better than nothing!
My treadmill and watch didn’t quite link up, so I ended with 8.6 miles for the day not 9.11, but I felt pretty good during the run.
We had our family date night last night, but I failed to take a picture. We went to the new 4 By 4 in Fremont Hills, and had dinner at the food truck there. Our friends, Kallie and Coty met us there, and it was so fun. When we got back home, I put Cooper to bed while Jake hopped into his Zoom class, and then I finished grading some finals.
Y’all, talk to me about the 12 month sleep regression. Like I said, this kid was crushing his nighttime sleep. He was sleeping in his crib for 11 to 12 hours. but the last two nights, he has woken up and it has taken one to two hours to get him back down. I end up spending a couple hours in the rocking chair in his room just snuggling with him. I love the snuggles, but I had started to get used to sleeping through the night…I’m hoping this is just a phase and will be over soon.
We are meeting some of my girlfriends for lunch, then need to run some errands, and then we get to celebrate Eleanor’s birthday tonight! I cannot believe she is four years old!
Happy Friday, friends!
