Weekend Wrap-up!

Friday morning started with 40-minutes on the elliptical, then computer work and me dealing with Verizon. UGH. I got a new phone a few weeks ago and shipped my old phone, which was in PERFECT condition, minus the battery dying quickly, back to Verizon. I know it was in perfect condition because I had only had it for about 3 weeks – Verizon had replaced my old phone when the speaker went out. Anyway, they provided me with shipping materials and I dropped everything off at FedEx and called it good. Well, that was dumb of me. They’re claiming my phone came to them unresponsive and with a cracked screen. Seriously?? I was not happy. So I spent part of Friday morning on the phone with them. The situation sounds promising since Verizon never sent me photos of the ‘damaged’ phone, nor can they located the shipping materials the phone came to them in. Fingers crossed. I don’t want to have to get mean! But I will.

Okay, enough venting – onto the good news! We are going to see Dave Matthews! This is one of Jake’s favorites, so I wanted to surprise him with tickets. Well, just like the dang Mug Club surprise, he saw the concert on Facebook. Luckily, he got busy at work on Friday and I told him the tickets sold out – but they didn’t! I managed to surprise him a LITTLE. This will be our first concert as a married couple! It’s 4 days after our wedding – May 30th. We are SO pumped!

I managed to get the tickets Friday morning the second they went on sale, then I headed to HealthTracks! after HealthTracks, I came out to these messages that I had missed in our group chat…HA! Just some light reading…
Picture

After HealthTracks, I stopped by Mama Jean’s to get stuff to make pasta for dinner. These were calling my name! We put these in the freezer and enjoy them frozen. SO. GOOD.
Picture

I unloaded groceries, then had lunch. I was STARVING! I had spaghetti squash casserole and Nut Thins.
Picture

Thennnn dark chocolate covered pretzels, because why not?
Picture

I did more computer work, then I took a snack break and watched Friends. I munched on a beef jerky stick and cereal.
I had an interview that evening, which was the last interview with my 10th participant! I’m getting SO close to being finished with interviews! Jake stopped by the store and grabbed this new beer for me to celebrate. It’s delicious! After the interview, I started on dinner.
Picture

Anyone else obsessed with gnocchi? It’s probably my favorite pasta. We got this kind from Mama Jean’s. There’s also a Paleo version and it’s DELICIOUS.
Picture
Jake had a 24 mile training run in the AM, so I made sure to have him eat lots of carbs! We had pesto gnocchi with chicken and mushrooms, a spinach salad, and Jake had two rolls.
Picture

Mmmm. While we ate, we watched a documentary about the 100 mile run that Jake did last summer – you can read about it HERE and HERE. It was emotional watching it all over again! It was such a crazy experience and I just crewed for Jake. I cannot imagine putting my body through that kind of training and performing…so mind-blowing. But so, so inspiring.
Picture
Jake got up super early Saturday to run part of his 24 with a group. He came back to the house to meet me when he got to 19, and I did the last 5 with him. That was my longest run since our back-to-back trail races at Dogwood in November! I sipped on coffee and did my stretches while I waited for Jake to stop by.
Picture

Never without my stretching buddy…
Picture
Jake crushed his 24-miler! It’s so crazy to think that his TRAINING runs are what I’d like to eventually race. He’s something!
Picture

Cold, but happy to be finished with our runs! I felt SO good the entire time. I was pumped.
Picture

After our runs, it was time for breakfast, then I headed to a TRX class!
Picture

I love this song.
Picture
After TRX, Jake met me at Cherry Picker, where we had coffee and lunch! I ordered the Brie or Not to Bri and Jake got a turkey pesto. Here’s mine!
Picture

We shared our sandwiches and holy cow – they were both amazing!
Picture

Then it was home to relax! I took a little 10 minute nap, which I’m never able to do! I always end up sleeping too long and then I wake up grouchy. But the 10 minute nap was perfect! Jake took a little nap, too. Aspen made sure to get her cuddles in.
Picture

Then it was off to keep my friend, Sam, occupied, so her husband could throw a surprise party for her! Me, Cassie, and Katie were in charge of taking Sam out for a girls’ day. It was a blast and I wish Ryan (Sam’s husband) would throw more surprise parties so we have even more excuses to hang out! ; )

Our first stop was Civil Kitchen for flights!

Picture

I was too excited to be taking pictures…everything I took was blurry…
Picture

After Civil, we went to Golden Girl Rum Club and shared this delicious drink – it came out on fire!
Picture

We got to drink out of the longest straws I’d ever seen.
Picture

After attempting to get a decent picture, the people next to us took pity on me and took one for us. Girls’ day was a success! Jake picked us up from downtown and took us to the party – Sam had NO idea and was SO surprised – it was the best!!
Picture

Jake and I usually get to sleep in on Sundays, so that’s just what we did! He had to run 14 and our friend Jyssica needed 18, so they got to run together and I had breakfast in bed. HA!
Picture

Jyssica gets me. I can’t wait to get out there and run with them! They both had amazing runs and I am SO proud! <3
Picture

When Jake got back from his run, we were both starving, so we went to The Pitch for salad and pizza. We hadn’t had this pizza before and holy cow – I think it’s my new favorite! I think it’s just called the Pitch Pizza, but WOW. So. Good.
Picture

After lunch, we went to the grocery store and the weather started getting crazy. It was SO windy and snowing like crazy. I ended up canceling the Go Girl run I was hosting due to the weather and some of the girls had contacted me saying they wouldn’t be able to make it with the weather acting like it was. So, after we got groceries, we sat down to enjoy the live music at Lucky’s and share a beer!
Picture
Then it was home to meal prep! Sweet potatoes, asparagus, onion, and garlic on these baking sheets.
Picture

Beets! We haven’t had beets in a long time, so I’m looking forward to enjoying these bad boys.
Picture

The aftermath of meal prep – at least they’re clean! We also cooked a bunch of chicken and made a big batch of steel cut oats for breakfast this week.
Picture

Then, in true Super Bowl fashion (and after prepping ALL the healthy stuff), we went to get wings, beer, and chips and salsa. Balance, right? ; )
Picture

We got home right before halftime – it was VERY important for me to see Justin Timberlake perform! Jake made me an Old Fashioned – it was SO good. I think he was perfected this cocktail. Which is great for me because they’re my favorite! But also dangerous because I think I could drink 5 or 6 of these…
Picture

It was so nice to sit down and relax last night. I actually enjoyed watching the game, too!
Picture

Lu was more concerned with why we weren’t playing with her. She DID watch JT sing, though!
Picture
Fighting over who got to sit closest to the fire…
Picture

These two and my favorite sweats kept me warm all night. Oh, and the Old Fashioned!
Picture

All the family snuggles! Jake relaxes at home in real clothes. It blows my mind. I hardly wear real clothes.
Picture

Part of Jake’s lunches for the week – roasted veggies and chicken!
Picture

I don’t remember where I FIRST met Jake – we have known of each other for years, but I do remember where we first talked to each other. Looks like we need to get married at Creekside!

What about you?? Where would you get married?

Picture

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I have two more final interviews today, then I might be finished, unless I decide to interview one more person. EEK! I’m also going to knock out a short run in the snow! I love snow runs, so I’m excited!
Happy Monday!
