About Me – Papers & Pavement

Hi! My name is Chelsea. I love to run, eat delicious food, and drink red wine and bourbon. I am an Assistant Professor of Reading at University of Arkansas at Little Rock and have a PhD in Reading Education.

I have an amazing husband, Jake, who trains (running and riding) more than I do – hello ultras on ultras – and we both love to race. We have two perfect furbabies, Lulu and Rhea, who you will see a lot of on here. : )

We are expecting our first child in February of 2022 – a little boy! We are over the moon excited. After a year of IVF, which you can read all about HERE, we cannot believe we get to meet our sweet miracle soon.

Jake, my husband (as of 5/26/18), proposed to me after he crossed the finish line of a 100 mile run. A family friend was able to get the whole thing on video, which you can see HERE. It was the best day!
