Butter and honey on toast is AMAZING. Jake and I both talk about how much we love it every morning at breakfast.
After I fed Lu yesterday, she passed back out.
I did a little bit of work around the house before I headed out to run some errands. I knew I’d get hungry, so I had some almond butter and grapes before I left.
First stop, facial at Acacia!
After my facial, I ran to the grocery store. I got a snack (which I didn’t end up eating) and cold brew. I was going to see my friend, Cassie, who owns the Ozark Mtn Flower Truck, to get some bouquets, so I grabbed a cold brew for both of us.
Her truck is just so dang cute. I am SO proud of her. Also, her flowers are incredible. I’ve had a bouquet from her since the beginning of April and it still looks beautiful.
After we caught up and she made bouquets for me, I came home to mow. There’s nothing like a freshly mowed yard.
I inhaled my lunch super quick – it was delicious. I’ve said this before, but if you haven’t tried nutritional yeast on your veggies, try it. YUM.
I also made these black bean brownies – they turned out super good!
Then I headed out for a little bike ride. It was gorgeous outside.
I was starving when I got home, so I had another snack.
I finished up some stuff around the house, got cleaned up, then filled our growler for Jake. We love 4 By 4 beer. So much. Safety first!
All of our parents came over last night for dinner! I say “all” because I’m adopted, so my parents AND my birth mom and her boyfriend came over, and Jake’s Mom, his Dad, and his stepmom. His other Dad (who raised him and is married to his Momma) was out of town, so he couldn’t make it. Aren’t we lucky to have four sets of people who love us? I love it.
Check out this spread!! Jake grilled a tri-tip for the first time on our charcoal grill. It was outstanding.
I was so excited to eat, I completely forgot to take a picture of my plate before I scarfed everything down…here’s what was left when I remembered. Everything was delicious!
Lu is very obsessed with my Dad. Any time he would try to put her down, she would grab onto him.
Happy early Mother’s Day! Cynthia left before I remembered to get a picture. I’ve been off my picture game lately. Thank you, Ozark Mtn Flower Truck for the beautiful flowers!! I cannot get the flash in our eyes to go away…
Left to right: My birth mom, me, my Mom, Jake, and his Mom. <3 I think we all liked patterns last night.
Lu was sad that my Dad left. As soon as he left, she went into our room and sulked under the bed. I had to pull her out and put her into her bed. She was NOT happy.
I slept in this morning, WAY later than normal. It just felt so good to lay in bed while it stormed. I finally got up and put on my running shoes. As soon as we do this in the AM, the girls go to their kennels.
My run was rough this morning. Timehop told me Jake and I had a rough run a year ago, too.
11 years?! I can’t believe it. I love that all these prom and graduation pictures are popping up, but shoot – 11 years. No way. The 5 of us called ourselves the Spice Girls (hence the second picture)…
In the graduation picture, three of us wore 2007 sparkly glasses….can you find us? Mine were gold.
I haven’t been working super hard on edits this week – I needed a little bit of a brain break, but I’m going to try and knock out a little work on them today. My sister’s boyfriend, Tyler, is getting baptized tonight, so we are excited to celebrate that with him!
Happy Friday Eve!
