Confused…+ my own nail stuff + a drink you should try!

It feels nice to be home, but I’m having the hardest time getting my body back on schedule. We stayed up pretty late on our trip, and with getting home at 1AM and not being able to sleep our first night back, my body is all kinds of whacky. I slept in until almost 9:30 yesterday, which really threw me off when trying to go to bed earlier. I wanted to get up at 7 today, but I will still pretty sleepy, so I slept until 8. Maybe I just need to work on it a little bit each day. I’ll try to go to bed a little earlier tonight and get up a little earlier tomorrow…we will see how it goes! Not complaining, though – we have the BEST time! I spent the morning yesterday on my computer, then Jake and I had a quick lunch of cauliflower crust pizza and salad. We don’t have much left in our fridge and I haven’t gone to the store yet, so we are trying to get by until I go today. This was just about the last day to eat this spinach…it was pretty wilted, ha!

I had two meetings yesterday, so in-between them I worked and did my nails. I have been going to the salon to get my nails done lately, but decided I needed a little break from that. I did my own dip powder manicure at home and it turned out pretty good!

This came from the first kit I bought about a year and a half ago, It’s one of my favorite colors – Bubble Bath Pink, It’s a super super light pink.

This isn’t the exact same brand I have, but it actually has better reviews…mine all came in a kit together. I might have to order this one when mine runs out!
Here’s what a kit looks like. You can find these all over now. I think Ulta sells them. I got mine at Sally Beauty, but have been ordering from Amazon ever since. This whole process is super easy to do. You just paint on the adhesive like you would nail polish, then dip your finger into the powder. I brush off excess after it dries, then do that two to three more times. I file everything a little to make it smooth, then you seal it. SO simple and fun!

Since we haven’t been to the store, I gave in to my Chinese food craving – orange broccoli chicken and crab rangoons. YUM. I couldn’t eat all of this, so Jake stopped by during his dinner break and took the rest.

I also thought I needed these Chinese donuts. They were amazing. I sent the rest of them to work with Jake after I ate about 6 of them. I didn’t trust myself around them…

I had an after dinner margarita to continue the margarita kick I’ve been on. I love making Skratch-aritas before they hydrate you while you sip! To make one, I use one scoop of the lemon and lime hydration mix, club soda, tequila, and a squirt of lime. Put it all over ice – delicious!

I haven’t made this yet, but it sounds like it would be good! Same concept as above, but Jalapeño Grapefruit vodka instead of the tequila…

After my last meeting, we were lazy on the couch for a few hours before bed.

This girl was outside most of the day/evening. She’s always resting her head on something if she’s standing…

We used to have a bench at the end of our bed and I miss it. We haven’t bought much new furniture since we are still working on our house. We aren’t in our master bedroom yet, and once we are in there, we want to get a king bed (YAY!), but until we do that, we are sleeping on our old bed (which is super comfortable) in our guest room. I found this bench on sale at Wayfair and couldn’t pass it up. This isn’t the best picture, I’ll try to get one in the daylight later, but I think I really like it! We aren’t sure what our new bed will look like, but we both like this bench, so surely we can find something that complements it. We have taken some time off from working on our house, but I think we are both ready to get back into it.

Today is this guy’s birthday! Happy Birthday, Daddy Waddy! You are the best Dad in the world and I am SO thankful God choose you to be mine. I would not be the woman I am today without your guidance. I love you big!

I am off to the gym (pray for me) then will get a run in after some meetings later (pray for me again). I haven’t been on a run in a week, so we will see how things go! I haven’t been to the gym in almost two weeks…I am going to be so sore. Also feeling a little extra fluffy this week, but that’s okay. We lived it up in Colorado, which was well worth it! I think it’ll take me about two weeks to feel better. Part of it, huh? It’s okay to enjoy yourself!

Happy Friday, friends!

Those drink combos look awesome. Do you have any measurements of how much you put in of each ingredient. I tend to mess up cocktails and I hate wasting skratch. 😉
