Weekend Wrap-up: high chair + Coop’s great grandparents + any travel tips?

We had such a fun weekend – it was full of family time. And a bad back, but let’s just focus on the positives…like this handsome dude.

Someone is finally big enough to sit in high chairs! He LOVED it. He’s definitely an independent kiddo. Any time he can do something on his own, he gets so excited.

Friday night, my grandparents came over for dinner. Jake grilled for us and it was delicious. Coop loved talking with his great grandpa.

My grandparents have a winery near them in Florida that is called Cooper’s Hawk. They have brought us a few bottles to try and we finally opened one Friday night. It was delicious and Coop was pretty excited about it.

Saturday morning started with a run that didn’t quite go as planned. My back has been bothering me the last few days, so I stuck to the road rather than getting on trail. I had a two hour run planned and thought the road might keep me from tweaking my back. I felt really good until about an hour in. My back really flared up. I stopped and did some stretches and tried running again, but things just got progressively worse. I finally called it quits and just walked back to the house. I was pretty bummed. I ended with about an hour and 45 minutes and 8.5 miles for the day. Now to rehab my back…I have no clue what I’ve done, but even walking is difficult. A girlfriend of mine thinks it sounds like I did something to my psoas muscle, so I’ve been focusing on mobility and foam rolling. We’ll see how things go.

Saturday afternoon, we headed over to my parents’ to spend some time with my family and swim. This little fella sure loves the water.

Coop loves his Tutu!

We had a little birthday celebration for Jake, my sister, and me. Ya just can’t beat cookie cake.

I sure do love these people!

Coop is blessed to have one great grandpa and five great grandmas.

I ended up taking a rest day Sunday since my back was still really bothering me. We had a lazy day and just hung around the house.

We knocked out a little meal prep, too. Lunches this week are teriyaki chicken bowls.

And breakfasts are burritos for Jake and an egg scramble for me because we ran out of tortillas.

A fridge that is ready for the week!

When mom’s back hurts, you read books in bed until dad gets home.

We grabbed dinner with Jake’s family last night. I loved getting to spend the weekend with our families!

Jake brought Coop a Leadville race series onesie back from Colorado last week. We can’t wait to take Coop to CO and show him all our favorite places!

A little Monday morning grading during breakfast with the cutest coworker.

We leave for Colorado on Friday. It will be our longest road trip with Coop. If you have any travel tips for a baby, please send them my way!

Happy Monday, friends!
