Back home + we started real food! + still working on this dang back

I used to take Dramamine and just sleep for long drives. I have now become a baby’s number one choice for entertainment and food. I tried to nap, but Coop wasn’t about that for me. Ha! We got home early Monday afternoon. My parents came over for an early birthday celebration since they’ll be out of town on my actual birthday. Jake grilled the most delicious burgers for us.

We started real food this week! Avocado was first up. Coop LOVED it.

We are kind of doing Baby Led Weaning. I started with a purée and moved to strips. Coop LOVED it. He did so great and enjoyed finally getting to eat real food.

I think someone is glad to be back home…

I had a quinoa, chicken, and veggie bowl for lunch yesterday. It hit the spot! My day was a little bit bonkers. We were gone 11 days, so it is taking me forever to unpack, do laundry, and get back into my routine.

Someone wanted some naptime snuggles, so I took a break from laundry, unpacking, and work to hold him while he napped.

When you are desperate to get some work done, turn a laundry basket into a playpen. This worked pretty great for a little bit!

I had planned to do sweet potatoes for Cooper last night, but he fell asleep on me while nursing and I ended up burning everything so we will try them tonight. Jake and I had salmon tacos and salad for dinner, plus what I could salvage of the sweet potatoes.

A couple bags of frozen milk thawed on our drive home and Coop wouldn’t be able to drink all of them, so he had a milk bath last night. I love adding breastmilk to his baths instead of throwing it out.

We are still trying to figure out what is going on with my back. I have a couple of appointments coming up to see if we can figure it out, but in the meantime, I am missing exercise. It sucks to not even be able to walk without pain. We discovered that my bike on our trainer doesn’t hurt me at all, so Jake got everything set up for me last night. I cannot wait to sweat a little bit.

This doesn’t look very appetizing, but it is one of my favorite breakfasts: steel cut oats, liquid egg (all cooked together), almond butter, flaxseed, and honey. So. Good.

Happy Wednesday, friends!
