Weekend Wrap-up!

I decided to do a weekend wrap-up on Mondays from now on. I like being able to ignore technology a little bit on the weekends, but here is what our weekend looked like!
On Friday, I was supposed to do the homework I had been avoiding. Sure didn’t! Looks like I need to get caught up this week. Ugh!

Jake was still feeling a little crummy Friday afternoon, so I made a Paleo stew with chicken and veggies. It was super yummy! It had chicken, kale, celery, carrots, tomatoes, a red pepper, broccoli, zucchini, organic chicken stock, water, garlic, parsley, cayenne pepper, and black pepper in it. After I cooked the chicken and chopped up all the veggies, I just let it simmer on the stove for about an hour – super simple!

I love having fresh flowers! Flowers and candles are a must have for me.

I’m kind of obsessed with these chips. They’re a different texture, but they taste pretty good! We had these with our soup.

We had some friends come over Friday evening, then we all walked down the road to Creekside to listen to some live music. It was so fun having everyone together! We have some of the best friends ever!

This fancy gal has always been in the women’s restroom…gotta love it!

These two…always a good time!

On Saturday morning, Jake and I went to the farmer’s market to walk around a little and get some breakfast pizzas. YUM. They were delicious!

We got an easy 5-miler in, then grabbed a burger at Galloway. We made sure to map out our run so it would end at Galloway…talk about the perfect motivation! ; )

I was trying to get some work done, but Lu did this, so I gave up and cuddled with her.

We had a wedding Saturday night, so our friends Dan and McCall came over so we could carpool together. They’re such a good time! I think my abs are still sore from laughing so much.

We loved getting to catch up with old friends!

Can’t wait for these two to get married!! Also, the picture is terrible, but these two little kids were adorable. The little boy was holding the girl’s cheeks while they danced. So cute!

Jake made a friend, of course! They had lots of fun.

Got this text from one of my high school friends. I didn’t even know this existed!!!! SO pumped to try it.

We grabbed lunch at Brew Co. on Sunday. We wanted brunch, but we got there too late. We were bummed at first, but our meals ended up being delicious, so we were glad it worked out! I had a Cali Chicken Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was super yummy! Jake had chicken tenders and fries. They were good, too! This was definitely a little bit of a cheat meal!

After lunch, I sat outside and read a little while Jake did yard work. After that, I ran to the store to get groceries, then went on a quick 3-mile run. I did not get my long run in this weekend, so I was kind of disappointed about that, but it happens!

I did a little bit of meal prep – just cooked some ground beef and ground chicken. We are having taco salad for lunches this week and cabbage rolls with ground chicken for dinner tonight and tomorrow.

I got up this morning to run, but wasn’t feeling a run outside, which never happens! I decided I would go to the Y and run on the treadmill. Lu wanted some love before I left! She probably just wanted to be fed, but a girl can dream!
Picture

I got 6 in on the treadmill and they felt pretty good! Jake is going to start running again in the mornings tomorrow (he doesn’t run on Mondays) and I’m SO excited to have my running buddy back! I think he has a tempo run for us tomorrow…so I may hate him a little during that! ; )

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday! I can’t believe it’s already April – this year has flown by!
