One of my gal pals sent me this text yesterday and it made me smile SO big! She’s amazing and obviously kicked MAJOR butt. Way to go, Kayla!!

Yesterday was my first full day of Intermittent Fasting (IF) – I fast from 7 pm to 11 am. I was a little worried about not eating a full breakfast since I run in the mornings, but so far, I have felt really great! This was my first meal yesterday, which happened about 11:30. I had a HUGE taco salad with spinach and napa cabbage, grass-fed ground beef, tomatoes, onion, half an avocado, red pepper slices, salsa and Sriracha. I also had a hard boiled egg and almond butter. I was stuffed.

After school, I ran some errands, then came home to do some arm and core stuff while Jake went climbing. I enjoy climbing, but wanted to just do some weights yesterday. I finally feel 100% again, so I’m ready to get back into my routine. I opted to workout inside so I could watch Netflix…priorities! ; )

Aspen was pretty excited about my core work…she absolutely would not leave me alone. I love her cuddles, but sometimes I just need to lay on the floor and not be bombarded with kisses. Lu was pretty dang busy staring out the window, so she didn’t have time to pay attention to us.

Dinner was a protein shake, leftover chicken and veggie stew, and a bag of protein chips. I loved that stew, so I definitely need to keep the recipe in mind. We will have to make it again soon – it’s so healthy and filling! I also love anything salt & vinegar flavored. Mmmmm.

After dinner, we relaxed while watching some Parks & Rec and sipping on some tea with oregano oil. Again, Aspen was SUPER into cuddling. Gotta love her!

Jake was pretty thrilled about this picture! Not.

MY RUNNING BUDDY IS BACK! I was so happy to have Jake with me this morning. I’m so glad he is feeling better. He always pushes me (to go faster….to fall down, whatever!), so I’m super pumped we are running together again. We had a rough month and a half of being sick!

We knocked out a tempo run, which I totally would not have done without Jake. During our mile warm-up I was making ALL kinds of excuses – my legs were tired from yesterday, I just started IF, so I don’t have the energy I normally have, I’m hungry, I can’t run that fast, blah blah blah. Well, as soon as our warm-up was over, I knew I could either be a slacker or just suck it up and try my best. Jake’s goal was to run his 3 tempo miles under 7:30 and mine was to run them between 8 and 8:15 – I was determined I couldn’t do it under 8:20 because I just wasn’t feeling it. Lame, I know. Well, Jake KILLED his – all 3 of his were under 7:28 – I was SO proud!! That’s incredible, especially for JUST coming back from being sick. While my last tempo mile was a little slower than I would have liked, I kept all 3 under 8, which I didn’t think I’d be able to do, so I was pretty happy with this run.

This is definitely how we both felt after our run! Runderful. <3

After our run, I made some Bulletproof coffee with this goodness – I added collagen since I did the tempo run this morning. I will sip on this until I break my fast at 11.

Mmm – check out this goodness! I really love this coffee. Jake isn’t a big fan; he thinks you can really taste the ghee. Since going Paleo, he has trouble with eating/tasting a lot of butter. The ghee doesn’t bother me at all! I’ve never been a big butter fan, but I REALLY love this coffee mixture.

I thought this shirt was appropriate for today…we will see what my kiddos think about it! Jake’s Mom got it for me for Christmas and I think it applies to me most days – Thanks, Penny! : )

I hope everyone’s Tuesday is fantastic! Only 35 days left of school…not that I’m counting down or anything… ; )
