Mushy post warning, followed by a normal post!
One year ago today Jake and I started dating. Best decision I’ve ever made! We went to a JJ Grey & Mofro concert with two of our good friends. It was a blast. The music was amazing, but the company was even better.  Here’s a little throwback of all of us after dinner at Maria’s.

We have done some really amazing, fun things this year, so I’m just going to share some of those awesome memories! We have fun no matter what we are doing, which is one reason why I love Jake so much – he makes everything special. I am definitely a lucky girl!

This picture is from our first real date, just the two of us. We met on the trail by our house to walk our dogs, then we went to dinner at Sequiota Bike Shop. It was perfect and totally us.

The picture on the left is from one morning when Jake let Lu out for me while I was at work. She loved him instantly and he might be her favorite now…I try not to think about it! ; ) The picture on the right is from the first time we took Lu with us to do some trail work for a bike race. I love this picture of Jake and our girls!

This picture says it all – I was obviously smitten from the very beginning! He is seriously the best.

This picture is from Christmas last year. We were SO busy that day, bouncing between our families, but it was the best Christmas. We did our Christmas early on Christmas morning, then we got to see everyone & spend some quality time with our families.

This picture is from a trip to Chicago we took about a month and a half after we started dating. I was running a half with some teachers from school and one of the girls had to drop out, so Jake took her spot. We drove to Alton, then took the train to Chicago from there. It was amazing, and the train ride was an adventure in itself. Jake also told me he loved me fro the first time during this trip, so it will always be one of my favorites.

This picture is from a wedding we went to for one of my besties from high school. We had a BLAST. I think we drank all the whiskey and I may have pulled a muscle from dancing. So worth it! Jake is the BEST wedding date. Hands down.

This guy. <3

This was a date night some time around Christmas – we had Cesar’s (a staple for us), then drove around and looked at Christmas lights. It was one of my favorite winter nights.

This picture is from the Miranda Lambert concert. <3 Jake knows she’s one of my favorites, so he went to this concert and didn’t complain! Even though I was screaming lyrics, EXTREMELY off-key, sometimes with the wrong words (eye-roll), at the top of my lungs.

We have also had lots of fun on different bodies of water over the past year. Cliff jumping, surfing, paddle boarding…we’ve done it all!

There’s no one else I’d rather enjoy an adult beverage with. Especially when trying new whiskey!

We both have a heart for racing. Whether it’s mountain biking, swimming (drowning for me…), or running, we love it! The frowny faces are from when we overslept and missed the Turkey Trot…whoops! That won’t happen again!

Our birthdays were extra special this year!

2017 was off to a great start in Austin, TX. I think 2017 is going to be even better than 2016…which is hard to believe!

Whether we are hanging out at Creekside, exploring caves, touring breweries, or carving pumpkins, my stomach hurts from laughing & my cheeks hurt from smiling. Always. Also, Jake used nails to hold his pumpkin together. Just sayin’! ; )

Okay, now for the rest of my Wednesday and a little bit of Thursday morning!
For lunch yesterday, I had the taco salad I’ve been having all week, but I added an organic whole grain tortilla from Mama Jean’s. The brand is called Stacy’s and they’re the BEST. Check them out if you haven’t already. They offer a bunch of different sizes, so you can pick the one that is best for whatever you’re making. They’re probably the best tortillas I’ve ever had. I also had almond butter, a hard boiled egg, and carrots.

I had to Skype into class last night, which I reallllllly did not want to do. It wasn’t too bad…I just hate sitting for that long (3 hours). The girls want to cuddle the whole time I’m in class, so that can get a little tricky.

During a break in class, I threw our dinner in the oven – tilapia, sweet potatoes, and brussel sprouts. It was ready just as I was finishing up class! We relaxed and ate dinner, then went to bed early. We have both been pretty worn out this week since we are trying to get back into our 4 am running schedule. Hopefully by next week we are feeling more rested! I could eat dinner every night at 5 pm and be in bed by 8 and be SO happy. That isn’t possible for us, though, so we make it work! The girls were ready for bed WAY before we were! See the spot where a bone fell between the footboard and mattress? Real cool, ladies!

I had bulletproof coffee again this morning for breakfast, with added collagen. I think my body is adjusting well to Intermittent Fasting – I have felt a little sluggish this week, but that’s normal in the beginning. I am enjoying it so far and I think once my energy comes back, I’ll really think it’s beneficial.
I have a half next weekend, the Go Girl, and they just posted a picture of the medal. They always provide the coolest stuff!

We are planning on running this evening before we grill for dinner. We might run somewhere to do some mushroom hunting, then run back home. Sounds perfect to me!
Happy Friday Eve, friends! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
