Day 3 of MAP Testing is finished! And when your 8th grade girls ask you to color with them afterward, you totally get out your crayons, organize them by color, & join in on the fun!

We listened to some Kidz Bop – which they didn’t love. Eye-roll. But we had a relaxing afternoon with a little bit of coloring!

Came home to this goodness!! I LOVE pancakes, but I am always starving in the mornings & don’t want to wait to make them…zero patience. So these are going to be perfect! They’re also Paleo-friendly. Whoop whoop!

We got a couple different flavors. I think the Snickerdoodle is going to be my favorite! Maybe we will have a pancake tasting this weekend…breakfast food is my favorite.

I snacked on this during my LAST CLASS EVER. I had a lot of emotions last night during class & as I said goodbye to all of my classmates, I felt like I could cry. I didn’t ever think this day would come & I don’t think it has really sunk in yet. I still have a paper to submit, then I am 100% finished with all course work. Eek!

The Tandoori Chicken turned out to be pretty good! I came home during my lunch to shred it, & then turned the crockpot to warm when I got home from school. We have lots of leftovers for dinner tonight!

We had quinoa (not Paleo) & asparagus with our chicken.

I had gotten the girls this taco cookie to share for Taco Tuesday & then totally spaced on giving it to them. So, they had it for dessert last night! Isn’t it cute??

Jake & I had a celebratory drink after dinner. We were both so worn out, but it was nice to sit down, celebrate, & chat for a couple of hours.

Aspen was throwing some serious shade our way because we wouldn’t let her on the couch. So much sass. She would stare at us until we looked at her & then she would look away. Eye-roll.

Lu wanted on the couch, too, so she sulked under the coffee table. Our dogs are such hot messes.

Does anyone else have a dog that does this?! She will stand like this for SO long. I guess she likes the stretch? The first time she ever did this to me when she was a puppy, I thought she was going to pee on me. She has done it ever since she was tiny. If someone is crossing their legs, she will trot right over & put one of her back legs on the person’s crossed leg. I don’t know what to do with her.

We caved & let them on the couch. I loved it. Don’t tell Jake. ; )

When my alarm went off this morning, I immediately checked the weather & saw that it was windy & cold. I told Jake we were going to the Y to run on treadmills. I just wasn’t feeling the wind! Jake got a killer hill workout in on the treadmill & I did some speed work (see graphic below). It felt SO good & I finally felt like I was back to normal! Fingers crossed. Lots of stretching tonight & hot yoga tomorrow.

This is the speed workout I did. It’s one of my favorites! You can add to it pretty easily, too. I think this is what I did for a 10-miler on the treadmill once. This ended up being about 6.5 miles. I tried to keep my fast minutes between 7:20/7:30 and my recovery minutes between 8:30/8:45. I did about a 4 minute cool down, I would have liked to do 10-15 minutes, but we were running a little behind. If you try this out, let me know what you think! It definitely makes the time go by quickly.

I ended up with an 8:01average for my 6.5 miles.

Jake made us an egg & veggie scramble, & we chowed down on some pineapple. May
be we will have time tomorrow morning to try out our new pancakes…hint hint.

Okay, so I’m super excited about this afternoon! I LOVE presents & I LOVE surprises. Jake HATES surprises…which only makes me love them more. ; ) I got his birthday present WAY early – his birthday is in August – and he gets it tonight! It’s something he’s going to want ASAP, so I wanted to give it to him early. Have I mentioned that I have zero patience? He’s been trying to guess ALL week. I am counting down the hours until we are home. Hurry up, day!! : )
Happy Friday Eve, friends!! We are almost there.
