I spent the day yesterday working on school stuff and the article I’m co-authoring. I’m hoping to finish that article today! Fingers crossed. Lu and Aspen stayed close to my side all morning. Lu likes to lay as close to the edge of the bed as possible without falling off. She usually ends up falling off, but it’s cute watching her get settled.

For lunch I had a Hawaiian roll (under the chicken), some chicken with a little bit of BBQ sauce, and watermelon. It was super yummy. I’m trying not to eat really big portions and just eat small amounts more consistently to try and keep food in my stomach all day. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t (sorry for the TMI!). If anyone has an immediate cure for food poisoning, I’d LOVE to hear it. I’m so over this! I’m also really bad about eating my normal foods…I know I need to stick to something more bland, but I just love food too much.

I’m been drinking lots of Kombucha. Mm. This Pineapple Peach flavor was delicious! Not overly sweet, which I like.

This is Aspen’s mad face. There was a squirrel in the backyard and I wouldn’t let her out to get it. She literally sat like this and just stared at me for a solid 15 minutes. She eventually forgave me, but she was not happy with me for awhile. She has got to be one of the most expressive dogs I have ever met. You can tell what she is thinking just by looking at her!

I guess Lulu was missing her Dad because she wouldn’t get off of his CLEAN shirt when I was putting laundry away. I think these two are sick of me being home and mopy all day. ; ) And see, she’s on the edge of the bed!

I had a little bit of this popcorn for a snack later on in the afternoon. We took this on our car trip to Colorado. I love it! If anything has black pepper, I am a fan!

After the popcorn, I was still hungry, so I had some of our leftover ground chicken from the tacos we had Wednesday night. It was yummy. I was pretty hungry all day yesterday, so I’m taking that as another good sign.

Jake got home from work and the girls were thrilled. Eye-roll. I think they like him more than they like me.

Jake left to go on a short ride and I finished up some work. I had just started dinner as he was getting home. We had garlic honey salmon with zucchini and summer squash, and a roll. I probably should have just eaten the roll and nothing else, but everything was SO good. I also don’t want to miss out on my veggies every day. Trying to eat healthy when you’re sick is super hard.

We were both craving something sweet, then we remembered we had treats! This chocolate bar was left over from our trip and Jake had half of a seven-layer bar from a bakery in Frisco, CO. We were pretty stoked. We sat on the couch watching New Girl, looking at places to stay in Colorado in August, and just relaxing.

I went into the bedroom to get ready for bed and saw that Lu the Mighty Pillow Hater had struck again. I honestly don’t know what her deal is with pillows, but she does this all the dang time. Anywhere we go! She loves to mess up all the pillows at my parents’ house, too. She’s something else. She’s either messing the pillows up or hiding things behind them. We can’t take her anywhere. I’m sure Aspen encouraged this behavior! ; )

I sat down to plug my phone in and Aspen immediately jumped up on the bed and laid her head in my lap. Our dogs are hot messes.

I slept in this morning. I’ve just been so worn out! When I finally got up, I made breakfast – eggs and avocado toast, then got started on some work.

I’m meeting my Mom for lunch later, and then I hope to go to the Y to run a little on the treadmill. I was really hoping to get a long trail run in on Saturday, but we will just see how today goes. We are both looking forward to a laid-back weekend – I think we need it!
I hope everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy the sunshine!
