I was still feeling a little crummy Friday, but I knew I needed to run because it would make me feel better. I threw on my new race shirt from Leadville to help motivate me. These shirts are SO comfortable. I love them!

Then I met my Momma for lunch. We shared this sandwich, and I got a smoothie and a ginger shot. Since I was still getting sick, I was really trying to get some calories in whenever I did eat.

Mmmm. This lunch was perfect.

While we were eating, a CRAZY storm started. I heard we had 60 mile an hour winds (which is also what we were running in during our races in Leadville). It was crazy to compare it to that because the wind was nuts on Friday. And it poured. My Mom and I tried to wait it out, but after a little while, we just decided to go for it. I was soaked by the time I got back to my car.

Then I came home to this. This was the last tree in our front yard! Bummer.

The rain had stopped by the time I got home, so I got out to run. My shoes were still covered in dust from Leadville.

I have never had this performance condition show up before…I think my body was SO happy to run! I had to stop and take a picture of it.

The entire trail looked like this. I’m glad the storm was short, but it caused a lot of damage!

I came home to some sleepy babies. I did a little bit of work after my run while I was waiting for Jake to get home.

When he got home, we spent a couple hours chopping up the tree and getting it ready to load into the truck on Saturday. There’s the whole thing!

Jake had a huge branch fall on him and it cut his chest pretty deep, this picture doesn’t do it justice. Poor guy. It was pretty swollen and bruised the rest of the weekend.

I was still not feeling 100%, but we decided I needed some sangria. I think it helped!

After dinner, we went to the batting cages and then got Pineapple Whip. It was a fun Friday date night!

We slept in a little on Saturday before we ran, which was nice. I broke out my Blue Owl Brewing socks from a brewery in Austin, TX. They’re super comfy!

We shared this piece of toast on the road. We were just going to do 8 miles, so we didn’t need a ton of food on our stomachs. I STILL wasn’t back to normal, so I didn’t want to get caught on the trails and get sick. I prefer to run on an empty stomach, so half the toast was perfect.

The weather was PERFECT. We went to Two Rivers and did our 8 miles. I think the route we took is one of my new favorites. It was a really enjoyable run.

We both wore beer socks. True love? I think so.

Sweaty and ready for breakfast!!

We went home and changed, then headed out for breakfast. We walked around the farmer’s market a little bit before we ate because there was a wait. We ate at Aviary and shared two crepes.

Everything was delicious, like always!

Then it was home to load up the tree and take it to the yard waste recycling center. This is just one load…I think we have one or two loads left to take. We ran out of time, so we didn’t get the whole thing taken.

We were pretty worn out after our day, so we went to The Pitch for an early dinner. We shared wings, a salad, and pizza. If you haven’t tried The Pitch yet, you should go! They have the BEST crust.

I’ve been looking for a single strap bag for awhile. We found this at Queen City Cycles and I am PUMPED. I love it! <3

Found this sleepy girl ready for bed. She looks so sweet and innocent here…don’t let that fool you!

On Sunday, Jake went to Arkansas with a group to ride 75 miles on gravel and I ran around home. I FINALLY felt back to normal!!!! I wore my Altra running skort for the first time on a run and I really liked it! It’s so lightweight and comfortable. I may have to get a couple more to run in…

I can tell I’m feeling better because I was able to push my pace a little on my last two miles. This entire run felt amazing, which I’m SO thankful for.

After my run, I made a huge smoothie and got to work on a draft of my dissertation proposal. I sipped on this smoothie most of the morning. It was yummy!

I haven’t had Sriracha in awhile (worst part of food poisoning), but I decided yesterday was the day. I made a chicken wrap with all this goodness plus onions. Once I cut that gross top layer off my avocado, it was perfect! Those tortillas are the BEST. Ever.

Mmmm. This really hit the spot. I may have to make this again for lunch today…

I ate the entire thing. It was the best wrap. Ever. Food finally sounds super good again.

I got my draft finished, vacuumed, did all the laundry, and mowed while Jake was gone – it was a very productive Sunday! When he got home from his ride, we went over to his parents’ for dinner. We sat outside and had some wine before we ate. The weather was incredible.

Dinner was phenomenal, like always. We left their house with super happy bellies.

Jake and I ran this morning and I feel totally back to normal! I think I’m over my food poisoning! Finally. That was a long, miserable 6 days. I hope to never go through that again.

Penny, Jake’s Mom, sent us home with some leftovers last night (thank you!) and that included a huge bowl of watermelon. Mmmm. It’s so good. I snacked on this after our run.

Then had some oatmeal with peanut butter mixed in. I haven’t had oatmeal in a long time. I forgot how much I loved it.

I have a phone conference today to discuss my dissertation proposal draft and I need to do our meal prep. I also plan on doing a little weight circuit here in a little bit. We are going to dinner with my family tonight to celebrate my Mom’s birthday – I can’t wait! I love that we will get to see both our families this week.
Happy Monday, everyone!
