I 100% set alarms for each of my to-do list items yesterday. And you know what, it helped!! The time absolutely flew by, but I got every single thing accomplished on my to-do list. I did add a little extra time to a couple of things, and I got back from my run about 3 minutes late, but still. I liked this method and will definitely do this again!
These two were like this when I got back from my run. All the eye rolls…so stinkin’ spoiled.
After my first round of writing, I did a small arm circuit. I just did this in the kitchen and I skipped the bench press because I was a little pressed for time. I got everything else in, though. It’s a good one and definitely gets your muscles burning.
i made a little protein shake afterwards with these goodies. I used to use a different kind of collagen, but I’m really liking this brand a lot! Plus, it’s a little cheaper. : )
Shake and chug!
My alarm went off again after my arm circuit, so it was time to write again. Lu had been asleep in her kitchen chair next to my seat at the bar. All of a sudden, she jumps into my lap. It’s pretty hard to type like this…
After another writing portion, I took a lunch break. I had some of the quinoa bowl I made for Jake – it was really good! And plantain chips because I am currently obsessed with them. Mmm. In the quinoa bowl there is ground turkey, zucchini, yellow squash, black beans, and onion. That’s it! It was so easy to prep and it’s REALLY good.
After lunch, I had another writing portion, then I did some core stuff. I watched a little Shameless while I did core – it made it better! ; )
While I was doing that, Lu made herself a little bed on the couch – I kicked her off! But she just looked so cute. Aspen was laying in the sun by the sliding glass doors. She doesn’t love pictures, so I try not to take too many of her.
Then I made a snack and got to work again! I couldn’t decide if I wanted peanut butter or almond butter, so I had both. It was a good choice!
When Lu got kicked off the couch, she moved to the recliner. I think Jake has officially lost his recliner to her.
Then I needed another snack…at this point, I think I was using snacks to get out of working…
Jake’s sister, Chelsea, and his Mom, Penny, had these shirts made for his race series this summer – how awesome are they?! They’re selling them for $15 a shirt, so let me know if you’re interested. Penny has already ordered more because they’ve been so popular. We SO appreciate everyone’s support!
They fit true to size and are SUPER comfortable. I love the heathered gray color, too.
Jake was down at Two Rivers riding and mapping out a course, so I dusted and vacuumed the house – yes, I was also avoiding work, but at this point, my brain was MUSH. It’s amazing how clean the house is when I don’t want to write! ; ) After I cleaned, I started on dinner. We had sweet potato hashbrowns (they were supposed to be noodles, but I sauteed them instead of steaming), brussels (using my favorite toppings – honey and balsamic vinegar), and shrimp and scallops. This bowl of stuff was SO good. I need to remember this meal – I really loved it and it was easy!
Thennnnn POPSICLES! <3 Jake had mango and I had raspberry.
Today is my rest day, so I won’t be running. I’ll stretch and roll later on. I was pretty excited about having leftover brussel sprouts, so I 100% had them for breakfast. I just love this recipe!
My high school reunion is this weekend!! My friend, Cassie, and I have been planning it since March, so I’m really excited that it’s finally here. I can’t wait to see everyone! I went to a private school and my graduating class was small, so we all pretty well stay in touch, which I love.
Jake has a huge training weekend, so he’s going to be worn out. He planned his runs and rides around my stuff, which he did NOT need to do, so that means a lot. I have a half marathon in the morning – I’m not racing it, just using it as a training run, then I might go spend the morning with some of the girls as they get into town. <3 We are touring our high school in the afternoon on Saturday – they have done a lot of remodeling and a lot of us haven’t seen it yet. Then we have a venue in town rented out just for us and we will have a taco bar for dinner! Yum. On Sunday, we are having a big brunch buffet, then going to Mother’s Brewery to just hang out. I think it will be a good time!
Happy Friday, everyone! Enjoy your weekend!
