All the writing + all the sweating!

We had leftovers from brunch at Brew Co from my high school reunion last weekend…looks like Jake and I will be eating this for awhile! HA! Good thing it’s pretty tasty!

Brew Co. breakfast at home? Yes please! <3 Seriously, I don’t know what they put in their gravy, but it’s AMAZING. I don’t even like gravy…

These two, always fighting over their toy. They only LOOK innocent…

I forgot to post this picture of Jake’s lunches for the week – chicken and veggies. Aaaaand Sriracha, of course.

I did this leg workout in the garage yesterday as one of my breaks from writing. Those dang knee ups HURT.
Picture

Wall sits hurt, too! It was so humid in the garage…I probably should have done this workout in the driveway…
Picture

I had a huuuuge smoothie for lunch – spinach, blueberries, half a banana, zucchini, protein powder, MCT oil, nutmeg, and collagen. It hit the spot after being so hot out in the garage!
Picture

Then I spent a couple more hours writing. When Jake got home, we did some abs together. That obviously hurt.

I was hungry (story of my life), so I ate my LAST fig bar. I’ve gotta go get more ASAP.

We had a meeting for Single Track Mind – an awesome festival with music, mountain biking, trail running, and all the best things (check it out on Facebook!)! So we grabbed dinner out at Koriya before we headed to the meeting. We shared this bowl and it was AWESOME.

After the meeting, it was home to work on some school stuff – next Tuesday is the last class meeting for the summer course I’ve been teaching. This is the first slide. I think my students will like it…I think they’re sick of me taking over their summer. ; )

No idea what they’re staring at, but they do this A LOT. Lulu does it more than Aspen. There are always nose prints on those doors.

I had a track workout in the AM, so I mixed some Skratch to take with me to the track. I opted for Orange. Mmm.

This was my plan for my workout – I wanted to end up with 7 miles total, so I added a 2 mile warm-up and a 2 mile cool-down. I had some time goals I was shooting for, but they were total guesses. I used the Yasso 800 theory for the track work – but I was guessing because I haven’t ran a full marathon yet. Basically the Yasso 800s theory says that if you can run a 4 hour marathon, you can run an 800 in 4 minutes pretty easily; if you can run a 3 hour and 20 minute marathon, you can run a 3:20 800 and so on. I know I want to run a 4 hour marathon or under, so I was shooting for 4 minute (or under) Yassos. I ended up getting 3:31 twice, then 3:27, and ending with 3:22. They say the 800s aren’t indicative of what you can run a marathon in, that it’s the other way around, but this at least gave me a starting point for track work!

I hadn’t done any track work in awhile, so I was really looking forward to this workout! I was the only one on the track for awhile, so that was nice. And it was so dark outside, which is always fun.

I survived!! That Skratch saved me. I LOVED this workout. I think I could’ve pushed a little harder, but it was a good one for my first time back on the track in a LONG time. Plus, we always say we could’ve pushed harder AFTER we finish, right?

Here’s what I ended up with – my warm-up was a little slower than I wanted, but it felt good, so I stayed with that pace. My legs were definitely a little sore from my leg workout on Monday, so it felt good to shake them out.
Picture

I met Jake as he as finishing his run, so we ran a little together so he could meet his mileage. Then we chowed down on leftover brunch from Brew Co.! I made eggs for us this morning because we wanted them over easy.
Picture

I just love Elle King. So much. Do you ever forget about a song and then it comes on and you’re SO excited?! That happens to me ALLLL the time, and it happened this morning with this song.
Picture

I dropped Lu off to get her hair cut on my way to teach this morning. I HATE dropping her off anywhere, even though I know she will be just fine. It always make me sad. And I know Aspen is at home missing her.
Picture

I am teaching this morning, then running some errands, THEN home to….WRITE! Eye-roll. I’m SO close to finishing my second chapter. SO. DANG. CLOSE. I’m so close, that it’s hard to write. Anyone else know what I mean? I think my brain might just be fried. I was trying to explain something to Jake last night and it was just awful, he laughed at me the whole time. But I just couldn’t use words.
Happy Tuesday!!!
