The girls were having a real case of the Mondays yesterday – lots and lots of sleeping! Aspen would either be here or laying on the floor somewhere in the sun.
And Lu was usually on the couch or under the table, just waiting for me to move so she could steal my spot. Every dang time I got up!
Another smoothie for lunch! And guess what?! I can finally kind of taste food again! YAY! I love smoothies for a lot of reasons, but right now, since I’m spending so much time on my computer, I love being able to sip on something healthy while I work.
I took a break in the afternoon to take our recycling, which has gotten REALLY out of hand. I hadn’t taken it since before we left for Colorado, which was over a month ago. I love these little bins, they keep everything organized AND they fit perfectly in my car.
For dinner last night we had bowls of goodness! I made honey garlic chicken, vinegar brussel sprouts, cajun sweet potatoes, and some Seeds of Change. Seeds of Change is a mixture of rice, quinoa, and flax seed. It’s SO good. I think they make different kinds of it, too! I love throwing a bunch of different things into a bowl for meals.
We ate outside and then played with the girls for awhile after dinner. Lu is over in the corner hunting something on the other side of the fence…
Aspen wanted to play, but only if we wouldn’t take this toy from her. She kept swinging it around and almost clocked me in the head a few times. It was hilarious, but probably wouldn’t have been as funny if she would have hit me…she’s strong!
Then we started playing frisbee, which resulted in Jake trying to teach the girls to take turns…
I decided a needed a little wine for those lessons…Lu was pretty much impossible.
We both got some goodr running glasses, but our lenses are different, so we were discussing which lens we liked better – Jake likes my lens better, but I like both. I decided we needed a picture in our new sunnies.
Is the duck face still a thing? It probably shouldn’t be for us…but in all seriousness, I ran in mine yesterday and absolutely loved them! They don’t slide and they’re SO comfortable.
We walked into our room and found this…Lu made a pretty nice bed for herself! Aspen just loves that fur blanket.
It’s all fun and games until Lu refuses to move…good thing that’s Jake’s spot! ; )
I defend my proposal today, so I’m spending the rest of the morning getting ready for that! Jake told me to be ready to go out when he gets home from work, so I’m not sure what we are doing tonight, but I know it’ll be fun! I’m kind of excited to talk about my proposal and potential study today, is that weird? Probably! Once I get the approval to start my study, I’ll share a little more about it!
Tomorrow, I am sitting in on a panel to answer questions about adoption for families considering that route. I’m adopted, so is my little sister, so we are both looking forward to helping people understand what an amazing thing adoption is! I met my birth mom, Dawn, almost 4 years ago and she is SO special to me and my parents. I’ll have to do a post about the whole experience
one day – it’s a great story. <3 Then, Saturday night, Jake’s parents are having a big BBQ at their house to celebrate all the awesome things that happened this summer – Jake finishing Leadman and our engagement.
