I need a standing desk + a killer track workout!

After my run yesterday, I chowed down on breakfast while lunch was cooking. After I worked for a little bit on my dissertation, I inhaled this! Chicken, sweet potato, and avocado. So. Good. And filling. I was stuffed after eating all of this.

I had a phone meeting in the late afternoon, then I was hungry again. An apple with peanut butter is one of my favorite snacks ever.

This is one of the pictures from the race last Saturday…it gave me a pretty good laugh! I think I was pretty focused on not curling up into a ball and laying on the grass because my legs hurt from all the hills.

For dinner, we had tilapia and veggies. This is some of my all-time favorite seafood seasoning. This company makes all kinds of spices – check them out!

YUM. I mixed together zucchini, summer squash, and asparagus and baked it all in the oven with some ghee, balsamic vinegar, and black pepper.

Dessert was a coconut popsicle for me and a Jack and Diet for Jake. We were both worn out last night. I was ready for bed at 7:30…

We watched some New Girl on Hulu and Jake loves the interactive ads. I’m not joking. I would rather watch the long ads because I can go do something in another room while I wait for the show to come back on, but not Jake. He likes the games in each little commercial…

Up when my alarm went off this morning – FINALLY. Got some good cuddles in with Lu before my run. I think she just really wanted to be fed…

Look who is back! For new readers, Jake completed a series of races in Leadville, CO this summer, the last of which was a 100 mile run. He took a month off to let his body heal, but he’s been ready to start running again. He ran 6 this morning his first run back. I had a track workout and it absolutely kicked my butt. I did a 2 mile warm-up, 4×800 with a 400 recovery lap in-between, and a 2 mile cool-down. I ended with 7 miles for the day, but those 800s were brutal. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t do a track workout for over a month…gotta start somewhere!

I am doing computer stuff again today…I’m really ready to be finished with all of this. I will take a break in a little bit to do a leg circuit workout, so I’m looking forward to that. I NEED a routine again! I think it will help me stay focused.

    Apple and PB is one my of my all-time favourite snacks too!! SO GOOD. Do you have Honeycrisp apples there? They are just coming into season here and they are beyond yummy!

    I feel like I have seen them in the store, but I don’t know that I’ve tried them – I will look next time and pick some up! Apples and PB always! 🙂
