Lunch was this amazing kale salad kit that I love, some BBQ chicken, and some leftover green bean casserole from our BBQ last weekend – thanks, Marissa! It was delicious. I also ate this lunch at 10:30 because I was starving and couldn’t wait until 11…

I worked all morning on the computer – I got A LOT accomplished, thank goodness! Then I took a little study break to play frisbee with the girls outside. Well, it’s more like, I throw the frisbee, Aspen gets it because she’s faster, then Lu tries to rip it out of her mouth. Eventually one of them will bring it back to me and that whole hot mess will start over again. Eye-roll.

Sunshine and iced coffee! Heck yeah!

Here’s the fighting over the frisbee…they’re both pretty strong, so this goes on for awhile. Sometimes one will get annoyed and just drop whatever toy they’re playing with. They’re pretty entertaining!

Iced coffee with collagen peptides – mmmmm! I was crashing and really wanted to take a nap, so I chugged some ice coffee while I was outside. It helped! I went back inside and got back to work after about 10 minutes.

My Momma stopped by for a little bit, then Jake and I got ready to go meet a group for a beer run! We were starting at Springfield Brewing Company, running about an mile and a half to White River Brewing Company, then running a little over a mile and a half to Mother’s Brewing Company, then the last two stops, Missouri Spirits and back to Springfield Brewing Company were within a quarter mile of Mother’s. It was super fun!

Our first stop after the first mile and a half – White River! Kayla and I shared a super yummy blackberry sour beer.

Our little group of friends that ran with us! It was also Brandi’s birthday, the pretty gal in the middle, so it was fun getting to celebrate with her!

Jake had to stop and tie his shoe, so we all passed him. I think Kayla and I were a little scared right here…he was gaining on us pretty quickly! ; )

The birthday girl and her fiancè just holding hands while running – I would 100% fall.

Our second stop – Mother’s Brewing. Kayla and I shared a super good cucumber saison beer. I can’t drink a ton of beer – it makes me swell up and kind of hurts my stomach. I’m glad Kayla was there to share with me! I couldn’t just NOT have a little beer – it was a beer run!

We love Mother’s. A lot. They have really good beer. If you’re ever in the Springfield area and haven’t been here, I highly suggest it! They have the cutest outdoor area with chairs and tables. In the summer, they show movies in their yard. And it’s dog friendly, so there are always precious pooches to play with!

Scottie and Brandi are super good at handstands. It makes me jealous. So instead of trying to learn, I just take pictures of them being awesome. One day I’ll do it…

Then it was birthday drink time for Brandi at Missouri Spirits – also a super adorable place in town. This was our last stop before we went back to Brew Co for dinner with everyone. It was a decent sized group. 20 or so people showed up!

Jake and I shared a pizza and salad. It was delicious. We didn’t eat until almost 8, which is 3 hours past my normal dinner time. We were both STARVING.

A necessity.

I had two pieces of this…Jake was super hungry!

It might look like they’re cuddling, but that’s not accurate. Totally play fighting and being crazy. At 10:30 PM. No thanks, ladies.

Today is another off day – we are switching our weekend running plans until after Dogwood, which is the back-to-back trail race we are both doing next month. We are working on getting used to running on tired legs, so we are running hard Friday AND Saturday, with recovery runs on Sunday. Last weekend was our first weekend of doing this and I definitely felt it! I think I’m still trying to recovery from it.
Anyone have any fun races coming up?
It’s Friday Eve, guys!!
I’m doing my very first half on Saturday! I’m a little nervous….but beyond ready! It’s very hilly, but our training group has been running portions of the course during long runs every week, so we are prepared. I’m a slowish runner(Hoping to average 11.5-12/min pace) but I just love it!
Alyssa,
That is SO awesome!!!! I’m super excited for you. Please let me know how it goes! I still remember my first half – it’s so exciting but I was SO nervous. I can’t wait to hear all about it! Good luck, lady! You’re going to be GREAT! 🙂
SO you run to different breweries and drink beer?!?!?! Now that’s a run I think I could do. HA I have the book…I KNOW, been a while but I’ve had that awful yucky bronchitis upper respiratory crap for about six weeks now and didn’t want to take any chances of getting anyone sick.WHEW! I’ll bring it by soon. PROMISE!! I’ll call/text before I come by.
Haha, I know!!! It was super fun! 🙂
Oh my gosh, you more thing. I hope you’re feeling MUCH better! That sounds so miserable. We can’t wait to see it!!! No rush, lady! Take care of yourself. <3
