Work, work, work, work, work…is that song stuck in your head now? It’s stuck in mine! Just lap desking it up over here…I spent all morning yesterday working on this article, minus the nap I took, which was AMAZING. Our run REALLY wore me out. I felt like I was falling asleep as I was typing, so a nap was VERY needed.

I had soup, quinoa, and corn bread for lunch! We have just about eaten that HUGE batch of soup I made. I’ll finish it off tomorrow for lunch, I think. I’ll be sad when it’s gone…

My knee was a little sore yesterday, so I iced it for a little bit. Aren’t these socks adorable? They’re one of my favorites from Feetures! If you haven’t tried out Feetures! before, I highly suggest them. They’re all I wear!

One of my all-time favorite snacks! These pita chips and hummus were left at our BBQ last weekend, so I’ve been slowly snacking on them. I have no self-control with chips/crackers and dip. None at all…

The perfect ratio of hummus and Sriracha. All the heart eyes.

Then it was time for some dandelion tea!

This is my all-time favorite sweatshirt. It’s from Sarah Marie Design Studios. They have the CUTEST stuff. I figured it was appropriate to wear this all day after our hard run.

For dinner, we had honey mustard salmon! I used THIS recipe. It was SO GOOD. I didn’t measure anything out, I just eye-balled it, but I think it was fairly close to the recipe. I know, I know. I’m the worst.

YUM. Before the Sriracha…we also had a Rhodes roll (so good and SO easy), salad, and zucchini with turmeric and coriander.

This meal was good! I need to remember it. Also, from start to finish, it took 20 minutes. That’s it!

This is desperation, friends. I didn’t quite get everything finished that I wanted to on the article (AKA I took A LOT of breaks because I was having trouble focusing). At the beginning of the week, I list out everything I need to accomplish and then give myself a timeline. This article needed to be finished by Tuesday evening, so I could send it to the professor I’m working with before our chat on Thursday. Because I was so bad about breaks during the day, I didn’t get everything finished, so I didn’t get to go to yoga. I should’ve gone to an afternoon class and used it as a break. Anyway, I FINALLY got everything finished last night, minus a math question I needed Jake’s help with (I’m SO bad at math – so bad), so I decided I needed a small glass of wine. I didn’t want to open a new bottle, but our Bota Box was almost empty! I’m SO glad I ripped it open and pulled out the bag – look how much was still in there! Two glasses worth. So much wine! So no, you aren’t crazy if you break open your boxed wine to get your full glass – you may end up with more than you bargained for!

How I felt about working all day/night…

I watched an episode of Parks and Rec while I waited for Jake to get home from the climbing gym. It was SO nice to relax.

Then I went ahead and finished off this bad boy…I got a little motivation to work again, so I started editing my dissertation proposal. Nothin’ like needing to edit a 78 page document. : )

The girls were pretty excited that Dad was home – he’s their favorite.

The girls are loving our new comforter set-up! Also, this is why I can’t cut Lu’s hair…it’s all over the place in the mornings and makes me laugh. A lot.

Brrrrr! It was 33 when we started our run. I decided I needed to wear tights. If my tights don’t come up this high, they won’t stay up! Anyone else have this problem? I need them super tight and pulled up really high!

I love Timehop. This popped up from my basketball coaching days. My 8th grade girls got to pie me in the face. I loved teaching/coaching middle school!

I love running vests! So much. This one by Outdoor Research is my favorite.

Jake was still wearing shorts this morning….he’s only a little crazy.

Sometimes you need to break in your new trail shoes on a road run! I had some issues with these during the first part of my run – user error – I had them tied too tight, but once I loosened them up, I really liked them! Can’t wait to get a trail run in with them.

Got 5 miles in with Jake, then he went on to get 5 more. I’m not going to lie, I was happy to just need 5 this morning….

My plan was to stick to an 8:45 pace after my hard run yesterday – I got pretty close to that!

I’m about to send the article off, then I’m hoping I can get most of my dissertation proposal edited. Fingers crossed! I’m just waiting to hear back from IRB (Institutional Review Board) saying I can start my study, then I’ll be good to go! I want to have this proposal completely edited before that. It will end up being the first three chapters of my dissertation. Jake and I have a date night later – we are getting all the stuff for our Halloween costumes, grabbing dinner – we are both craving pizza, which never happens for me, then maybe carving pumpkins if we have time!
What’s your favorite cold running gear?
Anyone else obsessed with Halo Top ice cream?

Happy Wednesday!
Just spent the evening writing my full marathon training plan. Start training tomorrow morning at 5am which means a 4:15am wake-up … eek!
I love halo top ice cream … give me all of the pints and I’d be a happy girl. But of course then I might have to set down my coffee some times and I’m 100% sure I don’t want to do that! HAHA!
Glad you’ve had some great runs and that you were able to get everything done even if it was a bit rushed.
Lindsay,
Oh, thats exciting! I LOVE writing training plans. It’s so fun to start fresh. Do you have any goals for this marathon? I feel like I’ve asked you this before, but have you done any fulls before?
Coffee and Halo Top – that sounds like the PERFECT combination to me!
I hope your first day of training went well!! I’m sure you killed it.
Yes … new training plan = florida marathon in february. My goal is to qualify for boston.
I just realized we have more in common than I thought because we both have the fenix 5s. I don’t have the white strap but the teal blue instead.
Going to the store soon to buy more Halo Top and Iced Coffee! 🙂
