Sore + that was MUCH needed + girl time!

After my run yesterday, I took Lu to the groomer, then met my Mom for an 80-minute yoga class. It felt SO good, but I definitely woke up pretty sore this morning. I think my hips are FINALLY starting to get better because I was able to move a little bit better and go deeper in a couple of things. Fingers crossed!

Our littlest angel FINALLY got her hair cut. Isn’t she adorable?? She looks like a totally different dog. It had been MONTHS since she’d last had a hair cut….bad dog Mom. She just got so fluffy, I loved it.

These two posts are out of order, but I wanted to start with how cute Lu is. ; ) The groomer called right as I was getting out of the shower after yoga, so Aspen and I hopped in the car and went to pick Lulu up!

Then it was back home and time for lunch! I was SO hungry after my run and yoga, so I threw a bunch of stuff in a bowl and chowed down. I also may or may not have finished off that box of Nut-Thins…I bought them Monday. Whoops.

The bowl had spinach, leftover broccoli/cauliflower and Firecracker Chicken from Monday night, Sriracha turkey, tomatoes, banana peppers, and carrots. I topped it all with Sriracha, balsamic vinegar, avocado oil, and nutritional yeast. It was delicious.

After lunch, I did some computer work, then got hungry again. I had early dinner plans with some girlfriends, so I didn’t want to ruin my appetite for that. I had a yogurt and then mixed all the other stuff together and it held me over until dinner.

Then it was off to Farmer’s Gastropub for girls’ night! When we got there, it was happy hour, so we shared some wings and potato crisps. They were both delicious! Their happy hour is really good! I can’t remember it all, but I think the appetizers were half price and they had some great drink specials, too!

Every single thing that was ordered for dinner looked delicious. I got the Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Grits. Holy cow. It was phenomenal. I brought some home for Jake and he loved it, too!

Sam had the Charred Brussels Sprouts Naan Flatbread. She shared a piece with me. It was SO good. I love anything with brussels and goat cheese.

Kayla had the Sweet Potato and Black Bean burger. Check out that bun…it looked incredible.

Jyssica had the Smoked Trout and Shrimp Mappas. Look at that bowl of goodness! I seriously want to go back and try every single thing.

We spent WAY too long trying to get a good selfie of all of us – the lighting wasn’t great and the table was big, so it was hard to get everyone in the picture. It was hilarious.

Our waitress saw us struggling and took pity on us. She took a picture for us! By the time we left the restaurant, we realized we had been there for almost 3 and a half hours – whoops! We were just having such a good time! All three ladies are AMAZING yogis, so maybe between all of them, I can FINALLY learn to do a handstand…
Jyssica and Kayla, the two across from me, are the girls running the Nashville Rock’n Roll race with me in April! Jyss and I are both doing the full – it’ll be BOTH of our first fulls (gulp), and Kayla is doing her first half! I’m so excited. We were trying to con Sam into running with us last night, but I think she’s passing on that…good thing we still have a few months to convince her! ; )

I came home to this! I told Jake that I wanted to start riding the trainer since I’m trying to take some time off from running. While I was at dinner, he rearranged and cleaned our entire garage and made a spot for me to ride! How amazing is he?! I’m SO excited. He even set up a shelf in front of the bike so I could put my laptop there. <3 He’s the best.

Breakfast this morning was a blueberry waffle, two eggs, and some bacon. Mmm.

I am going to knock out some computer stuff this morning, then I have a mother/daughter date with my Mom, my friend Adrienne, and her Momma, June. We do this every year on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving! I’m so excited to see them! Adrienne lives in Chicago, so I don’t get to see her as much as I would like. After lunch, I need to do a little more work and then get my trainer workout in – I’m looking forward to it! Tonight, we have plans with friends for Wild Turkey Wednesday – does anyone else do this? It has always been a big thing here in town and a couple of bars kind of host the event.
Anyone have any good workouts for the bike trainer??
Any big plans for the day?
Is anyone having an early Thanksgiving this evening?
Do you have any neat traditions that you do each year?
Happy Wednesday!
