Weekend Wrap-up!

Friday ended up being a rest day – I really need to get back on a training plan! I keep forgetting when I’m supposed to be running and when I’m not…I realized I hadn’t had a day off yet, so I used Friday to rest! I also got a lot of cuddles from Lu.
Picture

Lunch was the rest of the bacon-wrapped stuffed chicken from Run Fast. Eat Slow. It’s just so dang good.
Picture

And some Spicy Sriracha Lentil Chips for an after lunch snack!
Picture

I hate when Netflix does this to me…
Picture

I spent the morning and afternoon working on computer stuff – I finished organizing some information I’ve gotten from my interviews, so that felt good! It’s the beginning step of analysis for me. Once I can get all my data analyzed, I’ll be almost finished! I have 6 total interviews left to conduct (with 4 people), then I can analyze and write the rest of these dang chapters and be finished!

I am super excited about our new bands!

Picture

I did a little strength training with the bands and then rolled out with my lacrosse ball. Aspen really thinks that ball is for her…
Picture

I had two interviews on Friday, then decided I needed to do a face mask. This is one of my favorites.
Picture

It’s a two-stepper and the first step of the mask gets warm and the second half cools. I love it!
Picture

After I showered, I had to get some more cuddles in with my girls. I think Lulu was just wanting to be fed here…
Picture

I finally got dressed and fed the girls. Then I got lots more puppy cuddles!
Picture
For dinner, we headed to Arris’ pizza! We shared a Greek salad and had a pizza with half veggies and half meat. It was delicious!
Picture

One major bummer – they switched to a new honey mustard. It’s not as good as it the old kind was! I was SO sad. Honey mustard (their old kind) on pizza is delicious! But it has to be a certain kind! Not just any honey mustard will do.
Picture

After dinner, it was home to hang out with our babies and have Jake ice his ankle. He’s had a sore ankle for awhile now and he had a 20-miler in the AM. We iced and heated his ankle while looking at new running gear. He also filled me in on the winter climb he’s getting ready to do in a few weeks! He’s pumped.
Picture

Improvising when the heating pad is too hot…hat over your foot! This hat was what I had just gotten at packet pick-up for a race Saturday morning, so it was sitting on our kitchen table. I didn’t end up getting to do the race (it was a 20k), but that’s okay. I don’t want to push it!
Picture

Jake got up at 4 AM on Saturday to start his long run at 5. He ran with a group of people for 10ish miles, then did 5 more back to our house to meet me. My plan was to finish his last 5 with him, but as we started running, we realized I ran 4 days last week (whoops), and since I was trying to only run 3 days AND I was going to a workout class after this run, we decided I should stop after 3. So that’s what I did!

I slept in a little before getting out to run, so I loved that! I got up about 6, drank some coffee, and did my stretches.

Picture

Lu plopped herself right down on my yoga mat.
Picture

I took a break from stretching to give my girl some love.
Picture

Then it was time to run with Jake!
Picture

We ran back to the house when I hit 3 miles, then he continued on to get his last 2!
Picture

It sure is nice to be running again!
Picture

I started on breakfast while Jake finished up his run. We had bacon, and an egg, spinach, and onion scramble with black pepper and turmeric.
Picture

After we ate, I did some more stretching and walked into our room to see this. If I had just knocked out 20 miles, I’d need at least a 2 hour nap. Jake was out for about 20 minutes, then he was up and working on stuff! He’s crazy.
Picture
My stretching partner wanted me to play. She just drops her toy down on us when she wants our attention. Look at that sassy face. She’s something.
Picture

Then I headed to Body Boom at Physique Fitness! This class is one of my favorites and it is hard! It’s Tabata style and we do a strength round, then a cardio round, then back to strength. I think we end up doing 4 of each. I am still sore from Saturday!
Picture

Some of Jake’s family was in town, so we met them for lunch after I finished my workout. We went to FD’s and I had blackened shrimp and catfish, rice, and broccoli. So yummy!
Picture

I was SO worn out, so after lunch we took our recycling to the recycling center, then Jake went to run errands. I took a nap and ate cereal in bed. It was awesome.
Picture

We headed out to try a new tasting room at Show-Me Brewing before going to game night at the Planks! I got a flight, of course. That’s my go-to to try new beer.
Picture

Everything was SO delicious.
Picture

Picture

We love good beer! I can’t drink a ton of beer, but I think that’s why I love flights so much – I can sample everything but not get so full.
Picture

We ran to the store after the brewery to grab a couple things for game night, when Michael called and said Kindal wasn’t feeling well – we all decided to reschedule game night. Poor Kindal ended up going to urgent care, so send positive vibes her way! Being sick is the WORST. Jake and I ended up going to Coyote’s for dinner, then meeting our friends Luke and Leanna for a drink at Galloway before going to bed!We slept in on Sunday, then Jake got Aspen ready to go on a run – despite her face in this picture, she was ecstatic.

Picture

I got ready to go to Branson to go shopping with my Mom, my sister, Jake’s Mom, and his sister! We were looking for dresses for our sisters to wear for our wedding. Poor Lu was pretty upset that her Dad and sister were gone. She cried the entire time they were out running, all while staring out the front window.
Picture

This popped up on my Timehope and made me laugh! Some of the 7th grade boys did this to my room one morning before school – it was hilarious! I was shocked when I opened my classroom and saw this! Middle schoolers are quite the pranksters…
Picture

Ready to go shopping! These two are something else…I asked Piper (my sister, on the left) why she was making that face and she told me it was her picture face…
Picture

We stopped to grab lunch at Big Whiskey’s on the way to Branson. I had a Winter Grind and the Santa Fe veggie wrap with sweet potato fries.
Picture
We all got hungry after our first round of shopping, so we grabbed smoothies before going to the Landing for round two! Shopping is hard work…
Picture

I had planned on doing some meal prep last night when I got back from shopping, but that ended up sounding like the LAST thing I wanted to do. I was so cold from walking around outside all day (I didn’t take a coat), so I put on my coziest pajamas and crawled into bed to do a little work on my computer. Jake was at his Dad’s house, doing a gear check for their upcoming winter climb, so I was on my own for dinner. I started with these dark chocolate covered pretzels…Dinner of champions!
Picture

Then I decided I probably needed something a little more substantial, but I didn’t want to cook anything – pretzels and hummus sounded good!
Picture

Sad day…we are getting low on Sriracha! Good thing I’m going to the store today!
Picture

Aspen has got to be the cuddliest dog in the world. She’s hard to cuddle, though, because she’s all legs! She loves Jake.
Picture

I think Lu licked my eye right as I took this, haha! Family cuddles last night while watching Netflix.
Picture

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I’m about to go do a short run, then I’ve got lots on my to-do list for the day! We have another session at HealthTracks, so we will go to that this evening when Jake gets off work.
Happy Monday!

You’re inspiring me to take care of my injured hamstring too! In fact I just grabbed some Epsom salts at the drugstore because I read that you did it and seemed to help.
And I’m with you… when I shop, I don’t want the burden of wearing a coat. I want to be able to change in and out of clothes fast so I can try on a bunch of stuff! That feeling when you finally have super soft comfy clothes on at home after all your chores are done is the best. đŸ™Œ

      Hi, Christina!
Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having hamstring pain, too! It’s the WORST. Did the Epsom salts help??? I’m going to do a soak later today!
I live in comfy clothes right now….I don’t hate it!
I hope you have a wonderful day!!
