Running plans + this dinner = YUM + ALL the data analysis!

Jake and Jyssica worked on her running plan a little the other day – I forgot to post this picture! Jyss is running the full in Nashville and she is absolutely KILLING her training. It has been so fun to watch her. I can’t wait for race day!

I treated myself to breakfast in bed Wednesday morning. Eggs and steel cut oats, plus the BEST orange juice I’ve ever had. We picked up some of the fresh squeezed juice from Lucky’s the other day and holy cow. It’s incredible. If you like orange juice, try theirs! It’s SO good.

Jake is going on a winter climb here pretty soon and he sent me this picture of his first one. I think he’s pretty excited! He’s the second one from the right.

I worked on analyzing data, then took a brain break to go to the Y for a little bit. I did the elliptical for about 20 minutes, but I stayed in Zone 1, so it wasn’t a hard workout. I just needed a break from working and I was kind of dragging yesterday, so I figured a little workout would help. After the Y, I ran to the grocery store, then it was home to have lunch. I had more chicken and roasted veggies. I added Pepper Jake cheese to the chicken and it was SO yummy!

I picked these up at the store – if something says black pepper, I have to get it. I love pepper and put it on everything. These are really good! They’re very crunchy, which I wasn’t expecting, but I love them.

After lunch, it was back to data analysis. The funny thing about data analysis…there are SO many different ways to do it. I am doing something called Open-Coding, so basically my “codes” are determined by any patterns/themes that I find. I’m hoping to pull 3-5 major findings from my study, so using this type of coding will help me find those…fingers crossed! This is my first round of coding – I’m using colors to find any similarities among answers to interview questions. From there, I will do a second round, probably using symbols to see if I can narrow patterns down even further. I’m finished with one entire set of interviews, so I’d love to get the other two finished today and tomorrow, then start on my second round of analysis. I don’t have a plan yet for when I finish the second round, we will just see how it goes!

The best afternoon snacks consist of chocolate and some kind of nut butter. These were delicious! Jake had already eaten one, so I assumed he was saving the other for me and not for himself…

I took a brain break to prep and cook part of our dinner. Jake and I had HealthTracks last night, so we wouldn’t be home until late. I was craving Mexican, so I cooked veggies and meat so we could have fajitas or quesadillas.

I topped the veggies and meat with butter and these seasonings.

I picked two new things up at the store and I was excited to try them out! These chips were delicious!!

So were these tortillas. Jake LOVES green chile anything, so I knew I had to get these for him.

Dinner after HealthTracks! I wanted a quesadilla and Jake wanted fajitas. I also made a huge thing of guacamole. If you haven’t put goat cheese on your guac, try it! Goat cheese and pineapple are my favorite additions to guacamole. So. Good.

Mmm mmm mmmmmm.

Based on this picture, how happy do you think Jake is to be giving me a foot rub? ; )

Pre-run coffee and hammy stretches this morning!

My plan called for 4 miles today with a pace between 9:15 and 9:30. I got my 4 in and my overall pace was 9:18. It was SO cold and I am still kind of shivering, but it felt good to get out and run! I get to do 7 miles this weekend! I’m pumped. We are working on building up my base as I continue to rehab this hamstring. After 4 weeks, we will reevaluate!

Jake came up our road right after I did – here’s my attempt at a picture of him. He’s just too fast!

I got this text from Kayla after she and Jake finished their workout run – it made me laugh! I meant to get a picture of them running and it was so cold that I totally spaced it. Looks like they will just have to run together again! We all ran a mile together, then I finished up my own run while they did a little workout.

I’m working on data analysis ALL day…maybe I can finish all of it…we will see! Do you like how I’ve already changed my plans for working on it today and tomorrow to just doing it all today? We will see how things go! Sometimes I get a little ahead of myself. I’m excited to put some sweats on and cuddle up under my blanket – I’m still SO cold from my run!

Also, this week is FLYING. I honestly feel like today should be Tuesday…what the heck?

Happy Friday Eve, friends!
