Sometimes it’s just too hard to wake up in the mornings…
Breakfast before I got started on some work! A veggie and sausage egg scramble, plus a waffle with PB.
Here’s most of Jake’s gear for his trip this weekend! He’s doing a winter climb in Colorado – I can’t wait to hear all about it, but I’m pretty okay with staying home this weekend…climbing a mountain in the winter sounds pretty crazy! I promised I’d go with him ONE time…
We had a hard time getting motivated to work yesterday…
But don’t worry – I finally got around to FINISHING my second round of data analysis! Hooray!
These two lounged ALL morning. But they stayed in our room and kept me company.
My Momma stopped by around lunch time to drop off a Valentine’s day present – a Mizzou blanket and mugs! She thought this might help motivate me since it’s a reminder that I am SO close to graduating!
Then I made a smoothie for lunch! I wasn’t craving chocolate as much yesterday, so I made a fruity smoothie. My smoothie had all this goodness, plus some orange juice.
Mmmm. I’m on a smoothie kick right now.
It was so nice outside, the girls didn’t want to come inside the house. I didn’t blame them! I should’ve worked outside…
Lu wanted me to share my smoothie with her. I was selfish and didn’t….
Then it was back to work! Lots and lots of data analysis going on…
Then it was snack time – cereal first, then some ginger and dark chocolate covered almonds. Mmmm.
HA! Maybe this is what Jake and I should do for Valentine’s Day next year…
My love for pineapples is going strong…
If I get one more paper cut…it’s actually from a piece of cardboard – it bled forever and still hurts! Am I a baby? Yes.
Y’all, shorts in the middle of February? Heck yes!!! Also, check out my sweet new kicks!
I was so excited to run in these bad boys!
I know you guys think I’m just slower than Jake, but that’s not the case at all. I’m actually WAAAAY faster. I just like this view, so I pretend to run slow. ; )
We got an easy 4 miles in together as a family. This was Lu’s longest run ever – I was so proud of her! I usually just take her on 3 mile runs, but she did great running 4 and she even wanted to keep going.
Kayla drove by during our run and snapped this picture of us – we also saw her doing her run as we were headed to dinner! Scroll down to check her out! Also, please look at Aspen’s face in this…
Okay, this was my first run in my Torin IQs. They tell you all kinds of things, like your cadence, landing zone, impact rate, and contact time. Below you can see all of my information from our 4 mile run. I need to work on my cadence a little bit.
Check out this hottie that we saw running on the trail on our way to dinner! Go Kayla, go!
Jake leaves after work today for the weekend, so I took him out to dinner last night – he wanted Galloway, which I’m always happy about! We shared the veggie burger and BLT. It was SO good.
There are a lot of reasons why I love Jake, but his OCD tendencies are at the top of the list. We pack the same way! Soul mates.
My Dad is seriously the coolest. Not only is he the BEST dentist in the entire world, but he has just recently taken up wood working. Check out the top of a coffee table that he is making for my Mom! I am so, so, SO impressed.
After Jake and I went to dinner, I got in the tub to take an Epsom Salt bath while he finished up his packing. He took that time to show me some of his new gear. Check out these crampons…holy cow.
Our littlest was having a hard time not being able to cuddle with me. She has gotten very needy lately…I don’t hate it! Maybe it’s from me being home all day now? I have no clue!
Then this happened. Never a dull moment at our house. NEVER!
Today is my rest day and it’s much needed! I’m pretty sore from this week. I am going to stretch and foam roll later on. I want to get started writing my 4th chapter – I have 5 chapters total to write and I’m waiting to get 1, 2, and 3 back from my editor. If I could get chapter 4 written by Monday, that would be great. I just need to write 30 some pages…I might be able to knock it out! I’m definitely going to try my hardest! I even pulled some leftovers out of the freezer so I wouldn’t have to leave the house at all…we will see!
I have an 8 mile run on Saturday – I’m looking forward to it! Kayla and I are going to run together then grab a donut. I have been craving a blueberry cake donut for FOREVER, but I wanted to save it as a treat for when I finished a long run. Well, I’m counting 8 as long and I’m getting a donut on Saturday! Then I’ll spend the rest of the weekend working – I have a 3 mile run Sunday, but that’s it as far as my plans go! I need to suck it up and finish this chapter.
Happy Friday, friends!
