Hair products I use + my Dad’s Birthday fun!

I love bacon. SO much. Anyone else share a strong bacon love? I could eat bacon every day and be so happy.

I went to an 80-minute yoga class yesterday at Sumits. It was wonderful and I was DRENCHED. This is a light orange tank top…

I have had a couple people ask what product I use in my hair. I don’t use much, and since I leave it curly and try not wash it all that often, I don’t go through product very quickly. I have super thick hair and it tends to get dried out if I wash it a lot. I try to wash it two to three times a week, but usually not more than that! I also do not like wet hair – it drives me crazy!

When I straighten it, which doesn’t happen very often just because I like it better curly. It also takes awhile, so I prefer to go the easy route and keep it curly and crazy! But this is what I use when I straighten it. That’s it! Nothing crazy. I know that Garnier product says for curly hair, but it straightens just fine! My hair is pretty coarse, so a leave-in treatment really helps make it feel better.

Thank goodness for straighteners! I wish my hair would lie flat after I blow dry it straight, but it’s just super puffy.

We get married exactly THREE months from yesterday! EEK! It’s crazy – time is flying by SO quickly.

Jake told me to check his Instagram story – this is what I saw. He built that ramp so he could get to the box that needed to be worked on. For those of you that didn’t know, Jake works on power lines. I can’t imagine doing that kind of work. It’s very impressive – and he’s VERY good at what he does.

Anyone else feel like Bugs Bunny when they have huge carrots? I definitely do. Also, chocolate PB isn’t nearly as good with carrots as regular PB.

After some work, I took a break to get ready to celebrate my Dad’s birthday! I guess when I was little I used to sing some song that went like this: “I call ya Daddy Waddy cause I don’t know your name.” I know, I was a weirdo, but ever since, I’ve called my Dad ‘Daddy Waddy’, hence the name on the sign. I also call my Mom ‘Carmelicious’ – her name is Carmen. I’ve done this since high school. I think Fergie inspired me with her song ‘Fergalicious’…I’m obviously SUPER good at coming up with nicknames. I hope you can sense the sarcasm…and that you don’t stop reading just because I’m weird! ; )

We were ready for dessert at our house after dinner! I love birthdays.

I keep getting graduation emails. I don’t hate it! Talk about motivation…

Jake got home from work and we headed to meet my family for dinner to celebrate my Dad! We had planned on going to Lost Signal, but my Mom found out it was closed, so we changed plans and went to Farmer’s Gastropub. It was delicious!

Sorry this is blurry, but this was on of the best Scottish Eggs I’ve ever had. YUM.

I had a zucchini noodle dish. It was incredible and HUGE. It had zoodles (zucchini noodles), mushrooms, cabbage, garlic, and lemon juice. So, so good! I couldn’t eat all of it – hello leftovers!

Jake had the Scottish Pie – he loved it! It was pretty tasty.

They brought out dessert for my Dad – this was amazing. Vanilla Bean Creme Brûlée. Mmm.

My Mom made cupcakes for my Dad, so we all went back to our house and enjoyed them. Lu was especially ecstatic to see my Dad. I’ve mentioned before how obsessed she is with my Dad. Well, him coming over made her whole week. She made him hold her the entire time, then she cried hysterically when he left. It was cute but also sad. She just really loves him!

I made my Dad take a picture with my dentist joke…I think he loved it. ; )

The whole group! Happy Birthday, Dad!

I am about to head out for a run, then it’s work, work, work! I’m feeling motivated today, so I hope I can get some stuff finished! This is also my last week of building…I get to start doing running workouts and some speed work next week!!! WAHOO! I’m pumped. I haven’t talked about my hamstring recently, but I am definitely healing, which is all I can ask for. I am SO thankful. I think these 4 weeks of building were crucial and my time at Health Tracks has been so wonderful. So, fingers crossed I stay on the mend. I feel a little fluffy, just from not running what I usually run, but I’m trying not to focus on that. I am focusing on being thankful for a body and legs that can run!
Happy Tuesday!

I have NO idea how you don’t wash your hair every day. I get so stinking sweaty every morning at the gym. When I get home from the gym my hair is literally drenched. How do you keep your hair from smelling and getting all greasy? I struggle to use much product because my hair just seems to get all heavy and lays weird. Thoughts??
