We finished off the Superhero muffins from Run Fast. Eat Slow. and had some of our breakfast casserole and bacon for breakfast Monday. So much yum.
I worked all morning on chapter 5 – I’m STILL just trying to get it planned out. I don’t know why I’m struggling so much with this last chapter. I’m lacking motivation. I am almost finished planning, though, so I need to knock out some of the writing the rest of the week.
I met my running coach for lunch and got this delicious sandwich. We decided that I was ready to start working on pace again, but that we are going to hold off on speed work on the track for a little bit. I am 100% okay with that decision! All of my runs need to be between 8:15 and 8:30 for the next few weeks. I was running between 9:15 and 9:30, so I’m excited to go a little faster, but I also know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me!
I needed a little pick-me-up, so I made some tea in the afternoon.
I was really hoping it would make me a little smarter…
This is what we had for dinner!! It sounds different, doesn’t it? I was a little unsure, but WOW. It was delicious!
We go through a lot of eggs…This is probably two to two and half months worth.
I went to yoga yesterday evening. I felt great, other than being tired. I snacked on a little ginger on my way. I don’t know what happened, but as soon as I got into the heated room, I felt like I was going to throw up. It lasted the entire 60 minutes of class. I came up with an escape plan just in case I had to run out of the room – it was miserable! I have no idea what caused it, but it was awful. I felt kind of crummy the rest of the night, but I felt a lot better once I wasn’t so hot anymore. Usually the heat doesn’t bother me! Has anyone else had that happen??
I couldn’t get a good picture, but this is one of my favorite sports bras. I love the straps on the back. It’s from Lululemon.
Here’s the “meatloaf” before I baked it! I mixed it all up and put it in the fridge yesterday during the day, that way when I got home from yoga, all I needed to do was throw it in the oven. It baked for about 30 minutes, then I mixed together a little BBQ sauce, ketchup, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce and dumped it all over the top and baked it for another 15. It turned out SO good. i’m glad we like it because we will be eating on this for a couple of days!
I took a shower right after yoga, then lounged around drinking kombucha until dinner.
We enjoyed the “meatloaf” and salad for dinner. It was amazing.
Lu napped on my foot after dinner.
I’m super excited about this!! I love this company and I am so pumped to represent them in the running community! I cannot wait to get back to some trail running – it’s definitely my favorite.
More ginger to settle my stomach.
Up and at ’em this morning for Day 1 of my training plan – I definitely did NOT need mittens – I took them off after 2 miles, but i DID need ALL the coffee.
I reset my watch achievements when I started running again, so it’s been fun to see things like this pop up!
Here are my splits for the morning. Mile 1 and mile 3 hurt the worst. I had a lot of trouble breathing around mile 3. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but it felt good to run faster! Jake headed home after the 5 miles and I did my 8 strides, then headed home.
Jake had a Skratch coffee recovery shake waiting for me when I got home. I wasn’t drinking it fast enough, so he told me to chug it. It was delicious.
I WILL knock out part of chapter 5 today. Or else! I wonder if it helps to threaten yourself? We will find out! ; )
Happy Tuesday!
