Facial fun + loving this book + pizza night!

The highlight of my day –  a facial at Acacia Spa! I break out when I’m stressed, so this dissertation stuff has my skin pretty angry. I had only had one facial before this one. I’ve been missing out! It was wonderful and so relaxing. Also, these robes are the BEST. I went up a little early and sat in the sauna for about 30 minutes. It was a wonderful break from work!

I took my book and read it in the sauna and then in the women’s lounge while I waited for my appointment.

Rewind to Tuesday morning – another day, another bloody nose.

Jake leaves for the weekend on Thursday for 3 races. I am staying home. I’m super bummed that I’m going to be missing his races. I wrote him a note for each day before his race – complete with a motivational quote and all my love. I know he’s going to do amazing.

Lunch was a wrap with turkey, goat cheese, and banana peppers.

Okay, this might sound weird, but if you like hot tea, add milk to it. It’s SO good. I did this for the first time when my family went to London about 10 years ago. I was hooked. This was chai tea with almond milk. YUM. I couldn’t decide if I wanted PB or almond butter with my carrots, so I had both!

I did about an hour of computer work, then took an Epsom Salt bath. My hamstring is feeling better, but it’s still a little sore.

I’m seriously loving this book. I haven’t had that much time to read and I’m only on the second chapter, but it’s informative and enjoyable!

Mmmm. This happened. Jake needed to run to Walmart after work so I went with him. I was hungry when we got there. Then I decided I needed Oreos. Which I totally didn’t, but man, they are GOOD. There’s already one entire sleeve gone…I’m not proud of that.

For dinner we had pizza night! This is the pizza crust we got at Lucky’s a few weeks ago. It comes with two crusts, so we still had one leftover. They will last for a long time in your fridge.

It’s a pretty good crust! It’s thin and doesn’t hold a ton of toppings very well, but the flavor is delicious.

This time, I topped our pizza with tomato paste, uncured salami, mushrooms, garlic/spinach chicken sausage, jalapeños, and goat cheese. Then I added some kalamata olives to Jake’s half – I’m not a huge olive fan.

I made huge salads to go with our pizza. Also, the more goat cheese, the better.

I am going to Health Tracks today – it’ll be the first time I’ve worked out since Saturday. I definitely need to go, but I’m lacking motivation. This week has been hard! I think since I’m back to not running (I’m attempting a run on Thursday!), I’ve just been a little bummed. BUT, I’m going to go to Health Tracks and enjoy it! Then I have some errands to run for Jake before he leaves, so I’ll knock those out after I workout.

I’ve also been lacking motivation to work on my dissertation – after finishing the last chapter, I think my brain was like, quit making me look at this stuff! Hopefully kind of taking today off will help with that!

    I am so glad you were able to get a facial. I personally hate having people touch my face, it gives me so much anxiety. BUT sign me up for all of the sports massages … I have one scheduled Friday, because my hamstring on my left leg is flaring up and giving me issues. With my leg acting up, I am glad I haven’t signed up for any races at this point and will be sticking to the bike and stairclimber for a bit. Do you know when you will get your final draft back yet for your dissertation?

      I love sports massages, too! I hope you enjoy yours on Friday!! That sounds amazing.
      I don’t know the timeline for my dissertation yet…I’m hoping within the next month or so, though, so I can schedule my defense. I’m SO ready for graduation!
      My knee just started acting up – ugh. On the same leg as my dang hamstring injury. NO FUN!
