A little throwback for ya + Jake gets me + his sweet camping set-up!

Here are some sleeping puppy pictures from Tuesday night. Lu hates pillows on beds, but if they are anywhere else, she’s sleeping on them!

Aspen got some good cuddles in with her Dad. Jake will come home from work and ‘relax’ in his work JEANS. I don’t like to wear real pants ever. It blows my mind.

Wednesday morning the girls and I got Jake off to work, then I knocked out a little computer stuff before heading to Health Tracks. I wore this shirt hoping it would motivate me. I definitely had some aches and pains in my left leg, which is the one with the crappy hamstring, so I modified my workout and didn’t lift with my legs at all. I’m going to go for a short, slow run today – I’m really excited about it! Fingers crossed for no pain.

This picture was from two years ago – I was Skyping into a class on the deck of my apartment. HA! It was too nice outside for me to cooped up in my apartment! I loved this apartment – it was brand new and it’s responsible for me meeting Jake! Our house is a quarter of a mile away from these apartments. <3

For new readers, Jake and I knew each other through mutual friends, but had never really talked to one another. Exactly two years ago this past Monday, after the same race I’m doing this weekend, I ran into him at Creekside, a little hole in the wall bar close to our house. He was on a date and I was with a big group of friends. I told him I had just moved into these apartments and he said he lived close – the rest is history! We started hanging out EVER day – he eventually asked me out but I said no, I just wanted to be friends (I had just gotten out of a not-so-great relationship), which he was completely fine with. We continued to spend time together every day until finally one of my best friends, Katie, told me that I was being stupid because I obviously liked him. She was right! Now we are getting married in 71 days! Thank goodness for friends who call you out! <3

For lunch I had leftover pizza. One of these pieces had olives on it…it was awful. I carefully checked every area of the pizza to make sure no more olive pieces where anywhere. I love almost all food, which I’m sure you can tell since 94% of my life is based around food, but I do NOT like olives. Unless they’re in a martini. : )

After lunch, I started baking! I wanted to send some treats with Jake since he’s racing this weekend. I made protein balls and Skratch cookies.

Here are the protein balls. They’re delicious!

Then I made Skratch cookies – we rep Skratch and it’s our FAVORITE hydration and nutrition company. These cookies are the BOMB. You can get the mix HERE. I love this mix for so many reasons – you can add anything you want to it. It literally comes with JUST the mix, which is pretty dang clean. You can also make bars, which I shared a few weeks ago. Mmm. It’s just the best.

Great minds think alike! Kayla and I have a 15k this weekend – we obviously NEED all the accessories!
Picture

Snack time – Skinny Pop and a Skratch cookie. I ate both of these WAY too close to dinner. I didn’t have an appetite at all. Oh well!

My knee has been bothering me the last few days, so I iced it. It felt SO much better after icing.
Picture
I was craving wine last night – Jake gets me! The RedVolution Bota Box is the BEST. Ever.

I LOVE Trail Sisters. They’re an amazing company and they have some of the cutest gear. This popped up on their blog yesterday – just what I needed to read! You can read the whole thing HERE.

Jake wanted a carby (made that word up – I like it) meal before his races, so we had gnocchi. Which is my favorite pasta! I mixed the gnocchi with chicken sausage, spinach, mushrooms, onion, and pesto. It was delicious.
Picture

This is all I wanted for dinner after my snack attack – not my best moment.

Yesssssss.

Jake’s parents got us some Sriracha treats! I can’t wait to try these!
Picture

Jake finished up packing last night, so the girls and I got some cuddle time.
Picture

Here’s his sweet set-up for camping this weekend! He built two beds, but since I’m not going, he took one out so he has more room for gear. He’s going to sleep SO well.
Picture

All the Altras. I love the reflection of the pair on the left. I took this with a flash – how cool is that?
Picture

My handsome guy, all ready to go! Send him some positive vibes – he has a 32 mile race Friday, a 50 mile race Saturday, and a 12 mile race Sunday. One of my readers is also running – good luck, Rebecca!!
Picture

I’m taking Lu to get her haircut later – she’s SO cute after a haircut. I’ll post a picture on my Instagram story – chelseakdorman – if you want to see her precious little face. I’m going to run after I drop her off. Fingers AND toes crossed. I have missed running this week. Bad. Then I’ll be spending the rest of the day on my computer!
Happy Friday Eve, friends!

How’d the run go? I have taken the week off of running. I am hoping to return to running in the morning. I am going to just do a distance run and not work too hard on speed in the morning. Do you have any plans for the race besides of course having a BLAST??

      Lindsay,
The run did not go well – now my knee is bothering me. I have been icing and doing Epsom soaks, so hopefully that helps!
I hope your run went well! I’m going to be doing the same – no speed work, just running.
I hope you have a great day!
