Weekend Wrap-up: Girlfriend Getaway!

Friday morning was another breakfast burrito. These were SO dang good we are having them again this week!

Early Friday afternoon, I headed to Innsbrook, MO for the weekend with some girlfriends! Three of us (me, Katie, and Kallie) packed up my car and headed to our cabin. This wasn’t even all of our stuff…

Katie and I were starving, so we grabbed Wendy’s after being on the road for about an hour and a half. I can’t tell you the last time I had Wendy’s. It was delicious. We both got Junior Frosty’s, too. So. Good.
Picture

How adorable is our cabin?! It had 3 bedrooms, so this is from the loft, where 2 of the bedrooms were. It was pretty cold, so we didn’t get to sit out on the deck and hang out, but I’d love to go back in the summer.
Picture

Everything was so beautiful.
Picture

We have been friends since high school! It was fun to have a little getaway and relax.
Picture

We were waiting on the other four girls to get to the cabin, so we wanted to stay close. We grabbed dinner at the restaurant on the resort. I had a salad and the most delicious butternut squash ravioli. I was super impressed!

When Katie is OCD and organizes your fridge…I loved it. Also, I’m sure the crookedness of this picture will annoy her. ; )

After dinner, we immediately changed into jammies and lounged around the cabin. We played a couple of drinking games, then the rest of the girls got there Friday night, so we all sat around and talked. Kayla and I both had long runs Saturday morning, so we crawled into bed around 11 so we could get up early and knock out our runs before a day of fun!
Picture
Kayla and I got up at 6 with plans to start our 11-miler by 7. We each had toast with PB and honey. Picture
And of course, coffee – Kayla wrote on our mugs. I think she was grateful that I made her breakfast. HA! ; )
Picture

I’m not going to lie to ya….this run HURT. It was crazy hilly. It was also Kayla’s longest run!! I’m so glad we got out and ran together. This run tested us mentally and physically, but it felt good to get it done. It was so fun to run in a new place and explore a little bit, too.
Picture

I always love our runs together. We have the Nashville Rock ‘n’ Roll half at the end of this month. I cannot wait!
Picture

After our run, I had a meeting, so I headed to the community center at our resort to see if they had a room I could borrow for an hour. They gave me this massive conference room! I felt so official. Isn’t that table beautiful?? I loved it.
Picture

This was my view. I’d love to work in this room every dang day!
Picture

After my meeting, I met the girls for lunch. Kayla and I shared the most amazing BBQ brisket and grilled cheese sandwich. It was SO good.
Picture

After lunch, we went back to the cabin and played Circle of Death. It was super fun. It had been a long time since I played that game.
Picture

Then we headed out to visit a winery! How beautiful is this??? This winery is called Cedar Lake Cellars and it’s incredible. I highly recommend it!
Picture

They had delicious wine slushees.

They also had really good wine. We tried a couple of bottles and liked all of them! There’s also a huge pond out back and there are swans everywhere.
Picture

There’s so much natural light, too, which we loved. They had two buildings. One of them was a restaurant with a huge bar and the other one (which we were in) was called the Barrel Room. It had a huge bar and a stage with live music.
Picture

This picture didn’t turn out the best, but we found an old car and wanted to take a picture in front of it. We also tried to take a jumping picture, but my phone missed the jump…or we are just really bad at jumping. Either is a solid possibility!

We ended up going to a Warrenton (a town close to Innsbrook) for dinner. I had wings. They were just okay, nothing super great.

I headed home after dinner because I had a ton of work to do on Sunday. I was super thankful to the girls for being understanding about me leaving early. They’re the best.

I got home Saturday night around 11 and immediately went to bed. I woke up and started working, then Jake took me to breakfast for a brain break. I wanted pancakes, so we went to Scramblers. Mmmm.
Picture

Jake got a skillet that was delicious.
Picture

After breakfast, Jake got called into work and I ran to the grocery store.
Picture

These were on sale, so I grabbed them. I LOVE plantain chips and I can’t wait to try these out.
Picture

A girl I follow on Instagram posted about this sunless tanning oil that she uses and loves. She said she had tried EVERYTHING and this one doesn’t have the awful smell that most do. I love using sunless tanner, so I can’t wait to try it out! I’ll let you know how it goes.

I got SO much work done on Sunday. I took a break in the afternoon for a Go Girl fun run! Thank you, Bryan at The PItch, for taking such good care of us!! He gave us a special happy hour after our run. We had a blast!
Picture

Oh, I got some Lulu cuddles in before I left to go run.
Picture

For dinner, Jake and I met our friends Jordan and Trevor at McSalty’s for pizza! They have a pizza called the Honey Badger and it is my absolute favorite. It has pepperoni, jalapeños, and honey on it. It’s AMAZING. Also, their ranch is the BOMB.
Picture
Lots of computer work for me today. This beginning of this week is kind of crazy, so things might be a little quiet on my end. I might go on a short run later and/or hit up the yoga studio. We will see how the day goes.
Happy Monday!

Sounds like a solid weekend. Sad you had to leave early but there is something AWESOME about getting to wake up sunday morning at your OWN house. Would you say that if given the choice would you rather take the day off after a vacation to recover or take the day off before to prepare? I ALWAYS reserve the day after a vacation to re-coop and catch up on Laundry, the gym, and grocery shopping. Glad to see you posted on a Monday! 🙂
