I didn’t want to throw you off by having something different for breakfast, so here ya go! I’m thinking next week we will do protein muffins or egg muffins. I might try these recipes!

Final verdict from yesterday: PB is WAY better on rice cakes. I had almond butter the other day and I can definitely say that PB is the way to go.

I put off my run yesterday so I could run outside. The radar was calling for it to stop raining around 1. Well, around 11 I checked again and it was going to keep raining until early evening. I decided to head to the Y to get some time in on the treadmill. I wasn’t feeling super motivated yesterday, so I made a little speed/fartlek workout to make the time go by faster. Here’s what I did! I didn’t mess with incline at all this time, I just focused on speed. This was challenging – I was so sweaty by the time I finished up. I think my legs are still healing from the half last weekend. My cool-down could’ve been longer, but I was just ready to be off the treadmill.

I stretched for about 10 minutes after my run. I realized I had my Altras on, a Rab jacket, and my Skratch bottle, which are all brands that Jake and I rep for Ames Adventure Outfitters (AAO). I had to document it.

I took a better picture of the jacket when I got home. I need to post this on the AAO Instagram and Facebook – follow us if you aren’t already! You can see all kinds of sweet gear and get insights into when new stuff is coming out. (AAO Instagram and Facebook) There are also some incredible ambassadors and they do awesome stuff. It’s really inspiring to me.

Lunch was the rest of the salmon patties, some grilled eggplant, which was kind of a disappointment, half an avocado, and onion. I found the eggplant at Lucky’s in the freezer section. It was pre-cooked, you just heat it up over a skillet. I didn’t love it…

This boy is always looking at houses. He makes me want to buy every single one!

When the trail mix you made is almost gone…that’s literally all that was left. I finished it off then sulked that it was gone.

We had sloppy Joe’s last night. I started cooking everything and realized that I had broken our can opener last week. I improvised! Butterknife to the rescue!

This is what I get for impulse buying new things. I found these and thought they sounded super good. I got home and realized they were flavored. I usually try to buy things unflavored, that way I can add my own seasonings. But, I figured it was worth a try. Keep reading to find out how they were…

Healthy sloppy Joe’s, riced sweet potatoes, and leftover macaroni salad for dinner last night!

Yeah, those sweet potatoes were disgusting. Super glad I bought two packages…UGH. Any takers????

I NEEDED sweets last night. We had about 9 containers of Halo Top in our freezer…from like 5 months ago. It was all covered in freezer burn! We had to throw out every single one. I might be weird, but I don’t know if I really like Halo Top – do I need to give it another try??? I think only one of those containers was almost gone. The rest looked almost brand new. I HATE wasting food, so I was annoyed with us.

This cracked me up last night. We have a group chat, but we were also talking in individual messages, too. HA!

I shared this a few months ago, but this is what Buchholz drew for my bachelorette party weekend, which starts TODAY!!!! She’s the best and I am SO excited! We leave at noon today to go to Kansas City for the weekend! We are having a fiesta since tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo. I cannot wait to spend the weekend with some of the best girls in the world! <3

I love Timehop. About this time 5 years ago I was a year away from graduating with my master’s.

Jake and I got a 5 mile run in together this morning. Someone wanted to go with us. Also, this run was SUPER hard. I think maybe my legs were dead from speed work yesterday. I struggled the WHOLE time. It was also crazy humid and we were both drenched.

I know I talk about this a lot, but I love numbers! Strava tells me I’m slowly building my miles again. I’m ready to see these numbers continue to grow. I THINK I’m over the hump of this hamstring injury. Now I just need to be smart and continue to do the things I need to do to STAY healthy. I tend to jump into things and go too hard too soon. I’m going to really work on easing into training.

Jake and I had breakfast together after my run, then he headed off to work! I’m leaving at noon, so I won’t see him again until Sunday. He’s working a race this weekend, so he’s going to be busy.

Well friends, I’m off to finish packing! I will share all about the weekend on Monday, but if you want to follow along in our shenanigans, you can follow me on Instagram (HERE). I am so excited!
Happy Friday!
