After Jake left for his bachelor party weekend Friday morning, I picked up my friend, Katie, to take her to brunch for her birthday. We went to Early Bird – it’s our favorite.

Katie loves gnomes and camping, so I got her a gnome camping trucker. Also, we both have these tanks…

And totally wore them on accident. I pulled up to her house to pick her up and she was outside gardening…in this tank. I was dying laughing. Of course neither of us changed. Also, today is her birthday!!! Happy Birthday, girlfriend!! Love you!

I had big plans for laying out Friday afternoon, but there were SO many clouds, so I went inside and did a strength workout.

Lu likes laying out, too.

Aspen opted for the bed.

While I waited for the sun to come back out, I had my same lunch of chicken and veggies!

Aspen took over my yoga mat. It’s hard to get a workout in with our girls…they just want to cuddle or play.

I ended up laying out for a little bit, then I got ready to meet Jordan and Jyssica for dinner. I had a little glass of wine out of the glass I got from Go Girl while I got ready. I took last week off from working on my dissertation – I needed a brain break, but I am ready to get back to working. I think a little time off was very needed, but I definitely feel a ton of guilt over not working last week…is that normal? I’m so ready for graduation – I’m getting closer!

We had girls’ night at Cherry Picker! We sipped on rosé and ate delicious food.

After Cherry Picker, we went to Tie and Timber to sit outside and have a beer.

Then we found a puppy…

Sam met up with us at Tie and Timber. I was obviously very excited.

We stopped by Sam’s house as we were all going home for the evening and her husband, Ryan, was baking HOMEMADE chocolate chip cookies. Oh my gosh. They were INCREDIBLE. Thank you, Ryan!

We were pretty excited about how delicious the cookies were…then some fell off the plate. It was traumatizing. Thankfully, Jyss caught all of them! I’m honestly not sure how I managed to get a picture of our panic, but it happened.

There’s not much better than girlfriends and homemade cookies.

We had planned to run trail Saturday morning, but Jordan has been having some awful allergies, so she ended up resting. Kayla and I met up – she did 6 and I did 7. It was HOT. No more sleeping in for me. I don’t like running in the heat.

Pretty excited about marrying this wheelie pro! (Thanks, Trevor, for the picture!)

I was dead tired after my run. The heat really zaps me.

Kayla and I ran to Mama Jean’s and then Target when we finished running. We both got shots and I had a green juice.

For lunch, I switched things up a little bit and put my chicken on a piece of bread with hummus.

Here’s Jake (in the navy blue t-shirt with the pink Santa Cruz) and all of his buddies that went mountain biking with him this weekend! They had a blast.

My birth mom, Dawn, and two of our friends, Missy and Tammy, threw me a shower Saturday evening! It was PERFECT. Tammy made up a drink and called it “The Chelsea”. It was SO good. She’s the best at mixing drinks. I won’t post all the pictures, but here are a few from our fun night!

As a little thank you to the amazing women who hosted my shower, I gave them a couple of things and told them to pamper themselves!

Sweet Tammy left before we could get a picture, but thank you, to these two, and Tammy, for my perfect shower! It was a blast!! Love you ladies. <3

After the shower, we all went to Scotch and Soda and grabbed a drink. Then these two, Brandi and Caitlin, went with me to Social for drinks and another snack of tacos! They were delicious.

Jake and his buddies jumped off stuff all weekend – they’re crazy! Here’s Jake!

I slept in a little on Sunday, then went to the grocery store to get groceries for the week. When I got home, I finished up our egg and veggie casserole. We are having breakfast burritos this week – I’m pumped!

After I ate, I started on meal prep. Here are Jake’s lunches for the week – leftover chicken salad and BBQ pork (two separate sandwiches), plus beets and sweet potatoes on the side. Plus one more, which I haven’t made.

For breakfast this week, we are having burritos, so I cooked everything and we will just throw it into a tortilla. This week we have a meatless breakfast sausage, eggs, black beans, sweet potatoes, onions, and pear tomatoes.

Successful meal prep!

I’m trying not to eat dairy, but holy cow, I can’t pass up this yogurt. It’s seriously amazing.

Mother’s Day dinner at my parents’ last night. So much yum.

I’ve been going through pictures to make a slideshow for our wedding reception and I came across this! I was bit by a baby tiger! An office next to my Dad’s was doing a commercial with a baby tiger in it, so my Mom took me by to see the tiger. They said I was petting it and all of a sudden it bit my hand and wouldn’t let it go. My Dad had to use Vaseline to get my hand to slide out of the tiger’s mouth. HA! It didn’t hurt me, but I’m sure everyone was scared. I’m glad someone didn’t panic right away and was able to snap this photo of my hand in the tiger’s mouth. I like my Mom’s caption…no big deal, just sitting with my hand in a tiger’s mouth.

I ran 6 this morning, I’m about to knock out a bunch of work, then Kayla and I are going to lift later this afternoon. I’m ready to get back in my routine! I think my work break was good for me, despite the guilt I feel. : )
Happy Monday, friends!
