Our Wedding: Part 2 of 2!

The morning of our wedding, Brandi and I headed out for a little trail run and the guys went fishing! I set my dress out and couldn’t help but stare at it any time I was in my room.

The guys were excited to fish!

I love this picture of Jake and my Dad.

While the guys were fishing, the girls went to brunch. I didn’t take any pictures there, but Brandi did, so I’ll share them once I have some. Brunch was wonderful. There were lots of happy tears as we told stories. Then, we all went back to the house to get ready. I walked into my room to find this. Find a friend like Brandi! She set all of this up for us. She’s the best. We sat around and drank mimosas while getting ready – it was so fun!
Picture

Mimosas and face masks! ; )
Picture

I decided not to keep the face mask on for the ceremony, although, I think Jake would’ve loved it!

After I got ready, Brandi took a bunch of pictures. Here are a few of them!

Look at the background of this one – holy cow. It’s gorgeous!

The amazing photographer at work!

My sister, Piper, and me. These pictures are on the private deck that Jake and I had right off of our master suite. The house was so incredible. Also, you just can’t beat that view.
Picture

Now I have two baby sisters! <3 I’m not sure what happened in the second picture, but it makes me laugh.

We ended up getting married in the backyard of the house we were staying in – I shared a picture of the place yesterday. It was set up perfectly and Jake and my Dad stood down on the patio and I walked around the back of the house. Piper and Chelsea (Jake’s sister) were sitting with me in my room when we got the text that everyone was ready to start. It was about then that I got nervous. Piper and Chelsea walked out first and I followed them. This is right before I saw Jake for the first time.
Picture

Brandi snapped this of Chelsea, Jake, and my Dad watching me.

Here’s everyone before the service started. That spot was so perfect. I loved that there were spots for everyone to sit.
Picture
My Dad did our whole service and used a family Bible that is almost 150 years old. It was so special having him pray over us. My Dad isn’t a pastor, so he didn’t marry us, but since we were already legally married, he did a prayer service for us.
Picture

I think this is my favorite picture from the prayer service.
Picture
I’m not sure what was said it, but it was obviously hilarious.

There’s the family Bible. It’s beautiful.
PicturePicture
I’m glad there was so much laughter, otherwise I would’ve cried happy tears the entire time!

Finally!

Post-wedding smiles.

After the ceremony, we did family pictures, which I will share later, and Jake and I took a bunch. Here they are!

This man is my husband.

I love these of everyone.

My Grandpa painted a picture of the house we stayed in all weekend for us. Isn’t it beautiful? He’s so talented.
Picture

After pictures, we headed to Twist for dinner. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. They went above and beyond for us! Look at the special menu they printed just for us. Everything was phenomenal. Also, check out that food. Holy cow. It was incredible.
Picture

This was the view from Twist.
Picture

These are the sweet chili roasted brussels – oh my gosh. I could’ve eaten 4 bowls of them.
Picture

I had the sunflower roasted trout. It was heavenly.
Picture

Jake had the Wagyu steak, which was also delicious.
Picture

Hands down the coolest and best tasting Old Fashioned I’ve ever had.
Picture

Banana Cake all the way from St. Michael’s, which is in Springfield. Jake’s parents brought it all the way to CO with them on dry ice. It was AMAZING.
Picture

Sunday morning, the day after the wedding, we all had breakfast together at the house. Jake and I did a little shopping after breakfast.
Picture

These two and their matching. Jake won’t match me, but he will match Scottie. Eye-roll. ; )
Picture

Jake and the grandmas.
Picture

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of looking at mountains.
After we shopped a little on Sunday, we met a couple people for lunch. This was the only meal we were disappointed in. We were starving and had a big group, so we chose a place that could get us all in quickly. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. Oh well! I had a Mexican pizza. I don’t remember the name of the Mexican place, but I wouldn’t go there again.
Picture

After lunch, Jake and I met Scottie and Brandi at a whiskey distillery, then we sat by this water for a little bit. It was so relaxing.
Picture

Jake and I grabbed a beer before heading back to the house.
Picture

Then it was back to our house to sit in the sun.
PicturePicture
After our awful lunch, we wanted something good for dinner. We went to CB & Pott’s. Highly recommend!! It was delicious.
Picture

I had a burger with ham, a fried egg, and onion straws. It was incredible. Oh, and bacon. I always choose bacon.
Picture
It sure was hard to leave these mountains behind.
Picture

We left our adorable house early Monday morning. We were all so sad to leave. Jake and I seriously considered staying another two days…but after talking it over, we ended up coming home. We stopped in Denver for coffee and breakfast burritos.

Picture

Monday night, Jake and I stopped at Arby’s for dinner. I got the chicken salad, which is one of my favorites. Thank goodness I grabbed this bottle of Sriracha out of the fridge in Colorado. I would’ve been sad if we had forgotten it!
Picture

Now you’re all caught up on our wedding! I’m sure I’m not done sharing pictures with you – as Brandi sends more, I’ll post them! We have a reception next Saturday, so I can’t wait to share all about that with you, too! <3For those of you who have asked, we aren’t going on a honeymoon yet. Since everything was so up in the air with my graduation, we decided to wait and go for our one year anniversary. So, we will go on our honeymoon next year! And I will be graduated and not worrying about anything dissertation or PhD related. ; )

I got a 5 mile run in Tuesday morning. Holy humidity! I could breathe easier than in CO, but the humidity just about killed me.
Picture

Lunch Tuesday afternoon was this deliciousness – a hummus and veggie wrap. YUM.
Picture

Snack attack. This yogurt is still my favorite. SO. Good.
Picture

Guys, do yourselves a favor and get these crackers. Holy yum. I got them at Lucky’s.
Picture

We’ve been eating up everything in our fridge. It’s basically empty now! I can’t wait to get back to meal prepping like I usually do. The past few weeks have just been crazy. Last night for dinner we had sesame chicken, green beans, and beets with carrots.
Picture
Pre-run coffee. <3
Jake and I ran this morning. He did 5 and I did 8.

We head to Arkansas later today for the Dave Matthews concert! We have the cutest Airbnb rented, so we are looking forward to that. We will ride bikes around on Thursday before we come home. We haven’t seen our girls since last Thursday, so we are SO ready to pick them up tomorrow!! I’ve been lonely at home during the day without them.
Happy Wednesday!

I had to pop in just to comment and say what a gorgeous wedding!! I love how simple your dress was and the flowers you incorporated that looked the same as the foliage around you… That picture your grandpa painted is so special. And my hat is off to you for letting yourself be so laid back about the actual spot where you’d be married. Congratulations to you!!
