I didn’t get a post up yesterday since we were in Bentonville and I took a little break from social media. : ) So, let’s get caught up!
We left Wednesday afternoon to go to Bentonville, AR. I had gotten Dave Matthews Band tickets (Jake LOVES them), as a little wedding present. We also ended up staying in a SUPER adorable Airbnb that Jake had been wanting to stay in for about a year. It was a wonderful short getaway! Before we left, I had breakfast and then ran a couple of errands. We’ve been having that Dave’s Killer Bread for breakfast and it is SO good!

Jake took a half day off from work, so he came home about lunch time, we loaded up my car, and hit the road!

We grabbed these as snacks for on the drive down. They weren’t as thick as I was hoping they’d be, but they were still delicious tasting.

Once we got to Bentonville, we checked into our house, then headed to Pedaler’s Pub for drinks and a snack. We LOVE wings, so we tried out the garlic parmesan and hot flavors. Both were super good.

We were excited for a little time away! Plus, we really love the Bentonville area.

Okay, if you’re ever in the Bentonville area, go to Preacher’s Son for a meal. We went for dinner and it was INCREDIBLE. The building itself is adorable, too. It’s a renovated church! I was obsessed with the wood floors and the wooden beams in the ceiling. So cool!

How awesome are these dishes?!

We shared a shaved brussel salad – it was outstanding.

My handsome date.

Jake had fried Skate for dinner. Neither of us had tried Skate before. It was really good! It’s a type of fish that is in the ray family.

I love gnocchi, so I had to get the gnocchi dish. It came with mushrooms and asparagus. It was AWESOME. We both loved it.

I ate every last bite of food. I think I mentioned a couple of times after dinner about how I wished I had more…I still feel that way.

Here’s our Airbnb! It’s a guesthouse above someone’s garage. It’s adorable! We wish we could’ve stayed a few more nights.

Then we headed to the Dave Matthews Band concert!! They sounded SO awesome and we had a blast.

After the concert, we went back to our Airbnb, shared some popcorn, and went to bed. The bed was SO comfy, we ended up sleeping for almost 11 hours. We couldn’t believe it! I think we were still trying to catch up on sleep from all our wedding/travel stuff.

We love the Pressroom, so we headed there for breakfast.

I had the avocado toast and Jake had an egg sammie. Both were super good.

How cute is this tiny Sriracha bottle??

Then it was time to hit the trails!! I’m new to mountain biking, but Jake is basically a pro. He was actually semi-pro in Arkansas when he was younger, so he’s crazy impressive on a bike. Me, not so much. I used to fall off my bike a lot. Like, even when I wasn’t moving. Yes, it’s embarrassing. BUT, I am getting better! I think…I don’t fall anymore, so that’s something, right? ; )

Trail running is still my true love, but I like riding trail with Jake – as long as he ONLY takes me on SUPER easy stuff.

We grabbed a quick bite after we rode. We went to JJ’s, which was super yummy. We shared a burger and fries.

Then we headed home and picked up our babies!!!!!!! I missed our girls so much. I think they were even more excited than we were for us to be home. They literally sprinted around our house for about an hour. It was crazy. I’ve never seen them act so nuts before.

We, of course, had to go to Galloway for dinner. We rode our bikes down there, had dinner, then it started pouring. So, we rode our bikes home in the rain. It was fun!

The girls passed out as soon as we all laid down in bed. Lu does this hilarious thing when she’s exhausted where she flops down super dramatically, but her tail is still wagging. It makes me laugh SO hard. She did it about 8 times last night. It made my night! I need to try and get a video of it.

Jake and I ran together this morning, then he headed to work. I have a ton to get caught up on, then I need to run some errands. I have a meeting with my dissertation committee head today – it’s crunch time! I am hoping to have everything submitted by the beginning of August. So, the next couple of months I need to really buckle down. BUT THEN I NEVER HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL AGAIN! This is the first summer I haven’t taken an actual class…in 11 years. I’ve been in some form of college courses since I graduated high school. I can’t believe I’m almost finished. 195 days until I graduate… ; )
Happy Friday!
Congrats on your wedding!! You were a beautiful bride and I loved how unique yet fitting the location was for you guys. Quick question- I love the tank you wore to Dave Matthews. What brand is it?!
Thank you, Rebecca!! You’re sweet!
I actually got it at Target! It’s SO comfy!!
Have a great day!
