Jake went fishing super early Wednesday morning, so I slept in a little. When I got up a little before 7, I was starving! I sipped on some coffee and made a huge breakfast. Eggs, veggies, and toast.

After breakfast, I knocked out a couple hours of computer work, then I headed to my parents’ house to use their elliptical.

My Mom came down to join me and walk on the treadmill. We didn’t think she should be in sandals walking…she was also drinking coffee. But she managed just fine and it was nice to talk to someone while I finished up my workout. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical.

Piper came down and played around on my parents inversion machine. I love this thing, but I can’t stay in it for very long…

After I hung out with my family for a little bit, I came home and had lunch. A huge smoothie with Nut Thins and hummus on the side. Jake was home from fishing, but he was pretty worn out. He fell asleep on the couch as soon as we finished eating. I knocked out a little bit more work while he napped, then I took a 20 minute nap before getting up to get ready for fireworks!!

Our friends, Jyssica and Skyler, invited us to go to a dinner and fireworks show with them, so we all met at their house and headed to Hickory Hills!

The food was AMAZING. I had two huge plates…

Those desserts. Holy cow. So delicious. I was super impressed with the food!

We had very full, very happy bellies!

This was our first 4th together not at the lake, but we had the best time! There’s nowhere else we would have rather been. Plus, we get to spend the weekend at the lake, so win-win!

Typical girl bathroom selfie – there was a long line, so we had to entertain ourselves somehow! ; )

They even had Pineapple Whip! Jake had me get him a cone, but it started melting while I waited for him to get it, so I feel like I inhaled two ice cream cones. I’m not upset about it. It was delicious.

The fireworks show was outstanding!! We kept thinking they were setting off the finale, but it just kept going! Also, it’s hard to get a good firework picture. A few years ago, I got an amazing one. I don’t think it’ll ever happen again.

We came home to this…poor baby. I guess she was terrified of the fireworks. Aspen NEVER tears anything up. Her bed is done for.

I’m off to run – it might be a little rough from all the sugar I had yesterday. We will see! Then it’s back to the computer. I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July! Enjoy your day!
Happy Friday Eve, friends!
