Can you tell it’s crunch time? + a new recipe for me!

Here’s proof of my cool firework picture! I knew it would pop up at some point. Isn’t it pretty?

I ended up not starting my run yesterday until almost 8 AM. There was a little bit of a breeze when I started and I only needed 5 miles, so I figured it would be okay.
Picture

It definitely got hotter! But it was a really good run. I was worried I would feel awful after eating ALL of the sugar in the world at our 4th of July festivities, but I was fine! Or I was running on a major sugar high – ya never know…
Picture

Breakfast was a smoothie…that ended up being massive. You know I drank both of these. They were delicious.

It’s kind of hard to tell in this picture, but my heart rate monitor is making me chafe SO bad. I keep moving it around, and then it just chafes in a new spot. I have at least 4 little lines in this picture. I couldn’t get a better picture to show you. Does anyone have any recommendations for fixing this? It hurts! I have always chafed in this spot, though. I have scars in the same area.

This next part of the blog is where you can really tell that I did nothing but computer work yesterday…it’s literally just food. Oh well! One day, SOON, I will be able to do fun things again…I think! ; ) Lunch was leftover quinoa and veggies.
Picture

I worked a little more then took one of many snack breaks. Hummus and Nut Thins. I’m obsessed with Nut Thins. They’re so delicious.

Thennnn another snack break…rice cake with peanut butter and honey.

I worked until Jake got home from work, then he went on a bike ride, so I worked until I started dinner. I made a new recipe, Falafel! This was from THIS cookbook from Skratch and we loved it! Turns out Falafel is pretty easy to make. It’s basically chickpeas, chickpea flour, and seasoning. Super simple! Mine aren’t super pretty, but I’ll try again.
Picture
I put the Falafel on top of a Greek yogurt dressing, also from the cookbook, then cut up some pita bread and made a salad to go with it.
Picture

It was seriously delicious. I inhaled it…

Since I only had food pictures for today AND since we are going to the lake tomorrow, here are some throwback lake pictures! This is from the first summer that Jake and I dated. That’s one of his besties, Dan. Dan was one of the witnesses at our marriage ceremony! <3
Picture

I can’t wait to play in the sun with the gals!
Picture

I have more computer work today and a meeting tonight. We don’t have plans tonight, which is nice – I want to relax and do nothing! Anyone else ever feel that way? We have a long run Saturday morning, then we will head to the lake!
Any chafing remedies??
What’re you up to this weekend?
Happy Friday, friends!

First … it looks like you are wearing your chest strap really low … I literally wear my strap right underneath the strap of my sport bra. I would also make sure that your strap is damp when you get started. Finally, if you’re still having issues I’d say lube up with vaseline or something similar to keep from rubbing. Hope that helps! 🙂
