We got a call yesterday morning with some not so great news about Aspen’s biopsies. They were going to run one more test to be sure, so we are just playing the waiting game right now. I’ll share more when we know more. Thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement about our Aspey girl. She definitely got lots of deserved cuddles yesterday. She’s still in her cone, which she really doesn’t seem to mind. She just won’t leave her biopsied spots alone, so this is the only way we can keep her from getting to them. And she STILL gets to them. She ripped out her other stitches while I was out running errands yesterday. Eye-roll.

I came home from my run yesterday and got started on some computer work. Aspen isn’t jumping up on things right now, so I lifted her up onto our bed so she could be close to me. She cried out when I did this, which, of course, made me cry. I think she’s just in pain right now. I started giving her some pain meds again (the vet gave them to us when we thought she had pulled a back muscle), and they seem to really help her. I’m thankful for that! I can’t watch someone hurt.

I wasn’t all that hungry yesterday, but I had leftovers for lunch. If you like brussels sprouts, cook them with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and honey. It’s my all-time favorite. So dang good.

Lu kept bringing Aspen different toys yesterday. It was so sweet. The girls would also touch noses every once and awhile. They sure do love each other. You can see one of Aspen’s lumps here – they shaved it to biopsy it, but I feel like she’s lost more hair in that area now. There’s one of the toys the girls share.

I have exciting news! I’ve teamed up with EverlyWell to take a Food Sensitivity Test and share the whole process with you! I took my test yesterday – I posted all about it on my Instagram Stories. I also shared a video on Papers & Pavement’s Facebook page. Check it out and let me know if you have any questions! The test was super simple to take and I should get results back in about 5 days. I have always been interested in food triggers and understanding how certain foods affect me, so I am excited to get this information back! EverlyWell is also giving me a promo code to share with blog readers, so I will share that when I do my big write-up about everything.

Here’s everything that’s in the test. Lancets (you only need one, but they give you extras), a blood collection paper, a biohazard bag, band-aids, and then everything to ship your sample back to their lab. The directions are SO easy to follow.

Since Aspen can’t jump up on things right now, I made a little area on the floor for us. The girls and I hung out here for most of the afternoon.

I think they loved it.

More cone cuddles. Aspen cuddles like she’s a human. Which she is. ; )

Jake got home from work and joined us on our floor fort. We got in lots of family cuddles.

I had dinner plans with some girlfriends, so I met them at Haruno for sushi and drinks. Some of the pictures came out super blurry. We shared one of my favorite appetizers – an asparagus and mozzarella cheese tempura with a delicious dipping sauce, and I also got an order of tofu, which is the blurry picture. Both were incredible.

I ordered two sushi rolls and took the leftovers home to Jake. We ate the leftovers when I got home, ha! Sorry for the awful picture. My phone was not cooperating last night.

Kathryn, the brunette, and I, went to high school together, so we have been friends forever. Kimberly, the blonde, is actually Jake’s cousin, but I knew her before Jake and I started dating. It’s a small world! It was so fun to see these two and catch up. I don’t see them nearly enough!

I have some computer work to knock out today (so unusual for me, right? ; ) ) I need to get to the Y to get a workout in, but to be honest, I’m not feeling it right now. Maybe I’ll go right before lunch. We will see! I slept in this morning, later than usual, so that’s kind of throwing me off. I’m going to get some edits finished and start my day!
Happy Friday Eve, friends!
