At 4:30AM this is what I’m seeing. I don’t know where she gets her energy, but I need some of it!
It NEVER fails. This girl will make herself comfortable on any clothing that is laying out. I had just stripped our bed to wash the sheets, so she wasn’t happy about that. She had made herself quite the little cocoon to sleep in. I walked back in to put the rest of the laundry away and there she was. Needless to say, this laundry didn’t get put away at that time.
I LOVE this song.
One year ago we were in Colorado for Jake’s races! It’s crazy to think that all of that was a year ago. Man, time goes by so quickly. For new readers, Jake completed a series of races in Leadville, CO. He finished all five of the races, the last one being a hundred (and two) mile run through the mountains. He proposed at the finish line! The whole experience was insane and amazing and I think I’m still in shock from it all. I sure wish we were in Colorado right now! I shared a super quick recap of Jake finishing and proposing HERE, and some more in-depth posts HERE and HERE! You can also search my blog posts for key words, so you’ll find all kinds of stuff from our two weeks out there that way, too.
Anyone else like fig bars? If you do, try these out! They have all kinds of different flavors. I think the raspberry and blueberry are my favorite.
I walked to go vote yesterday. I took my smoothie with me and jammed out to some music. It was less than a mile away, but it felt good to get out and enjoy the beautiful morning.
Smoothie = inhaled; votes = submitted.
I knocked out a little work yesterday, then decided I wanted to take a nap. Well, I didn’t have time for that, so I chugged some BCAAs and wrote up a little workout. Friends, this was HARD. I’m sore this morning. It took me about an hour (a little under). I went down the ladder and then back up it, that’s what the UP and arrows at the bottom of the first column mean.
Lu joined me in the garage. She’s the best cheerleader. She loved when I did planks or anything involving me laying on the floor.
I was drenched when I finished.
I ate lunch as soon as I finished my workout. I had leftover kabob goodness and Nut Thins.
I finished up a couple of things and was still really tired, so Lu and I napped for about 30 minutes. It was wonderful.
I got up from my nap, had a snack – yogurt with collagen mixed in, and got back to work.
I also snacked on a couple of prunes. I used to be weirded out by the texture of prunes. Now I love them.
She sleeps in the funniest ways.
HA! Am I right? <3
When Jake got home from work, we went to a meeting about our neighborhood. I was STARVING by the time it was over and I was craving Galloway. BUT, I wanted the tuna steak sandwich AND the veggie burger. The tuna steak sandwich is pictured below. How amazing does that look? Trust me, it’s the bomb.
Thank goodness I married Jake. We ordered both and Jake shared them with me. I knew I loved him for some reason (well, a lot of reasons). He will always share with me! Also, we both LOVE food. So, we shared the veggie burger and the tuna steak sandwich. SO. DANG. GOOD.
Jake ran after dinner. I don’t know how he runs after a full meal, but he’s amazing. Before he left, he cuddled with us on the couch. I did a little work while he was running.
We got up and ran together this morning. Jake needed 10 and I needed 6, so he ran 4 and came back to get me. I decided I needed to wear every color of purple that I own.
At 4:30AM, I saw this. I’m not sure where she gets her energy, but I need it! Especially that early!
My favorite running buddy.
I sat next to Jake. You can’t even tell…it was a very humid morning and he was drenched. Gotta love a good ole sweat angel.
Someone had a blast sprinting around in the wet grass while Mom and Dad stretched after their runs…she didn’t have such a blast getting dried off. She’s currently mad at me.
I’m off to the grocery store, then it’s time to finish up some edits on one of my last chapters. I’m ready to be finished with this dissertation non-sense, friends. So. Ready. Whoever encouraged me to get my PhD may have been crazy. Or maybe I talked myself into it? Whoever it was, I don’t like them right now.
Happy Wednesday, friends!
