I go to bed at night excited for coffee and breakfast. Is that weird? I also wake up STARVING. Always.
Lu was living her best life yesterday while I did ALL of the grading. This time of the semester isn’t my favorite. Students see their grades and freak out and try to submit every assignment they didn’t turn in. It gets hectic trying to finalize grades while still trying to grade late assignments. I need to just not accept late things, but I feel bad and want to help. Maybe one day I’ll find a balance.
While grading, I took a lot of breaks to sip on coffee and stare at our tree. I want to leave a tree up all year…think Jake will go for it?
Almond butter and a banana for a snack. Any time I open a banana, I have to share it with Lu. She LOVES bananas. And carrots.
Lunch was two turkey and bacon wraps with Nut-Thins and hummus. Mmmm.
Jake’s Grandma is the best baker. She made us some of these delicious treats. I may or may not have had three of them yesterday.
This box from Mighty Spark Food was delivered yesterday! I am so pumped. I love this company for a lot of reasons. Not only do they make delicious things, but for every package you purchase, they donate a meal to a hungry kiddo in need. How awesome is that?
Look at all of these goodies! I can’t wait to try all of them. Thank you, Mighty Spark Food!! <3 I have had the blue package, the turkey, sweet potato, lentils, and spinach, but I haven’t gotten to try the others yet. I loved it and actually ate it the night before my marathon because it didn’t bother my stomach at all. I am so excited to try the rest! I’ll share each one with you!
This girl is going to the kennel this weekend. I’m going to miss her.
I have been obsessed with pistachios lately. This bag was half full on Monday. It’s now gone.
Dinner was delicious and super easy. Spaghetti squash with chicken meatballs and a salad.
I knocked out 8 miles on the elliptical this morning. I wanted to do 11 (for 11 years of being in school) since high school), but I ran out of time. That Huma gel was delicious.
I was starving when I got home from working out. I inhaled this plate of goodness.
I cannot believe today is my LAST graduation. I started thinking back on my other graduations and how special they all were. This was my college graduation. My undergrad is in elementary education. I graduated in December of 2011. Crazy to think this was 7 years ago. My Dad gets to co-hood me tonight at the ceremony. How awesome is that?
My master’s is in literacy and I graduated with that in May 2014. I started my PhD program in June of 2014! Fun fact, I used to be super blonde. I loved it, but don’t miss the upkeep. I was getting my roots touched up every 3-4 weeks! My hair grows super fast and it’s so dark, so I felt like I was always getting it done. I did like matching my Momma, though!
I’ve got a couple things to knock out, then we’re off to Columbia! Here’s to my last graduation EVER!
Happy Friday, friends!
Congrats, Grad! I am so happy AND excited for you! I am sure that you can’t wait to celebrate with all of the folks that have helped you while on this journey. Have you and Jake started planning your honeymoon yet??
Congratulations!!! I hope that you have been having the BEST weekend celebrating your graduation with your hubby, family and friends! You’ve earned it 🙂
