Netflix + embracing the easy + modifications!

Make today great, friends! I’m going into my running workout with this in mind – I want to make myself proud.
My little precious angel. I know I’ll love our kids a whole lot, but like, will I love them more than Lu?
I woke up at 4AM to meet a friend to run, but she wasn’t feeling the 30MPH winds we were having (totally didn’t blame her), so she opted for a treadmill run at her gym. I didn’t feel like running in the dark by myself, so I cleaned our bathrooms, edited a paper for a friend, finished laundry, and sent out emails. While I waited for the sun to come up so I could go run, I had two blueberry waffles with almond butter and honey.
Can you wear too much Altra?? Asking for a friend.
I had 45 minutes of easy running yesterday. I used to really struggle with keeping my easy miles easy. Which is probably a large reason why I was ending up injured so often. My body never really had time to recover and heal. I am learning to embrace the easy! My coach, Carlee, is helping SO much.
My ankle is still a little sore, but I’m ecstatic to be running. Every time I run past the corner where I sprained my ankle, I cringe inside. That was so terrible.
Not a pretty picture, but I chowed down on this after my run. Egg and veggie casserole with an apple chicken sausage on the side.
I have no clue how this is comfortable…
I made cod tacos for lunch. They were delicious. If you’re ever looking for a good seafood seasoning, check out Primal Palate’s. It’s incredible.
I had my first lifting workout of the week yesterday. One of the exercises called for a cable machine, which I don’t have, so I modified and used two bands. I love that I’m getting to do some moves that I didn’t typically do before Mary started writing plans for me. It’s pretty easy to find ways to modify a move. Bands are some of my favorite things.
Soooo, these (chin and forehead) popped up yesterday. Cool cool cool.
Before dinner, we lounged in comfy sweats and started a new Netflix show – Atypical. I like it so far! Lu never used to cuddle very much. I think watching Aspen cuddle us made her even more cuddly. I love it! Aspen had the BEST cuddles. (For anyone new, we lost our Vizsla, Aspen, to lymphoma in August). She was the sweetest girl and we still miss her every single day.
Dinner was the last of the chicken and green beans. Leftovers are my favorite.
Last night, I set out my nutrition for the speed work I have today. I love Evlution Nutrition’s Pre-workout and BCAAs. The flavors are so good and they work well for me. I am still obsessed with my Believe Training Journal. I can’t believe I’m already in Week 4 of training!
While I’m sharing supplements, this is another one of my favorites. I like to add this to smoothies or oatmeal. It’s a great way to get your daily greens in. The chocolate is definitely my favorite.
A little reading and some more cuddles before bed.
I slept in a little this morning, so I’m about to head into the garage and knock out my speed work on the treadmill. I am going into my workout with the graphic at the beginning of this post in my head – I want to make myself proud!
Jake had been gone the past two nights for a work thing, so he comes home today! Lu and I can’t wait to see him!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
