Recycling taking over + my diploma + the chapter I’m working on!

Did you guys see this article about a man that was attacked by a mountain lion while he was trail running? The man suffered some bites to his arms and face, but managed to get away from the mountain lion. Apparently he suffocated the animal. I cannot even imagine being attacked like that. Yikes. I’m glad the man is okay, sad for the mountain lion, but the man did what he had to do.
I asked for some tips about baking egg muffins and a bunch of awesome people suggested silicone muffin sleeves. I ordered some and they should be delivered today or tomorrow! I’ll share all about them once I try them out! I’m so excited to not have such a huge cleanup in my muffin tin.
When I forget to take the recycling for three weeks, this is what happens. My car was PACKED! But, I managed to get everything taken in a single trip!
I knocked out some grading and planned for the next class I’m teaching, then took a snack break. I only ran 5 miles yesterday, but I was STARVING all day. Jake bought this honey peanut butter for a recent camping trip. I’ve been eating it by the spoonful…it’s dangerous! So good.
Lunch was salmon, veggie tots, and some Nut Thins.
This sure took me back to my dissertation writing…I had sweats on, but I was still cold, so I threw my robe back on while I worked. I am writing a chapter for a literacy book that focuses on best practices in the classroom for pre- and in-service teachers. (Pre-service teachers are undergraduate students in an education program and in-service teachers are graduate students). My chapter covers some strategies/tools I use in my online courses. I have to find research to back-up the use of those strategies/tools. It’s actually been fun to start writing this chapter! I’m not very far into it, 1,300 of the 10,000 words, but I’m enjoying the process. I have about a month until I have to submit, so I’ll keep you updated on my progress.
All the snacks yesterday. Dried fruit is some of my favorite. Mangoes and apricots are probably my go-tos, but I also love pineapple and papaya.
The best piece of mail I have ever received – my diploma!!! My parents got me this frame as a graduation present. I love how it turned out! It still hasn’t sunk in that I’m finished with school…
I got in a lifting workout in the afternoon yesterday, then sat down to read a little. The next thing I know, Jake is getting home from work. I must’ve passed out. Oops!

We had leftover pumpkin chicken for dinner with some potatoes on the side. I cooked the potatoes in our AirFryer and they turned out super delicious. I ate too many and was stuffed.

Ladies, I’m really excited to share this app with you! That book, Roar, that I’ve been reading goes along with this app. I JUST downloaded it last night, so it’s new to me, but I love what I’m seeing so far. It’s called FitrWoman and it gives you tips on nutrition, training, and recovery based on your cycle. Keep scrolling for more info!
Here’s the calendar that you see each month. You input your last period and it generates information for you based on that data. Another fun extra feature, you can connect to Strava, so your workouts will sync with FitrWoman. You don’t have to do this, it’s just an extra feature. You can see mine at the bottom of this picture.
It explains each phase and gives insight into things you might be feeling/experiencing within each one.
It also gives insight into training and explains things about your training during each phase. I have speed work to do today, so I’m anxious to see if it lines up. There are 5-6 of these insights for each section, I’m just showing you a few of them.
I think I’m going to really like this app! I have loved reading Roar by Stacy Sims. I’m going to read it a second time and take lots of notes. It’s been so interesting to read about being a woman and training with research-backed information. I’ll keep you updated on what I think about this app, too!
Jake and I leave next weekend to go to Colorado, so we started packing last night. We can’t wait to break in our new Julbo goggles.
It’s another day of to-do list things. This week is going by a little slower than last week, so I’m grateful for that. I slept in this morning then took Lu for a haircut, so I’ll get my speed work in later today. It’s supposed to rainy/stormy here today, so I’ll most likely be on the treadmill!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
