This weekend flew by, but there was a lot of downtime, which was nice. Jake was gone to Arkansas for an enduro race (mountain bike stuff), so he left Friday after work and got home Sunday morning.
Breakfast Friday morning was another egg scramble. I decided I was sick of eggs after this meal. Does that ever happen to you?? I seem to get burnt out on eggs pretty easily.
I met the girls for a run and had some foot pain. It got worse as the run went on, so I’m not sure what I did. I worked out barefoot the day before and did some jumping, so maybe I bruised it a little?? I’m not sure, but it bummed me out. I mowed our front yard after lunch, but ran out of gas before I could get the backyard finished. My foot was sore while mowing, so maybe it was a good thing I ran out of gas.
Rhea was anxiously waiting for Jake to get home from work.
Forced cuddles are the best cuddles.
Friday night, I went to dinner with my friend, Cassie. We went to Galloway and I had the Red Bird (sans bun). It’s delicious.
I woke up Saturday to meet the girls for a trail run, but as soon as I stepped out of bed and onto the floor, I quickly realized my foot had gotten worse. I decided to skip the run and see if I could get my foot back to normal – which made me cranky. I didn’t want eggs for breakfast, so I had toast with peanut butter, honey, and banana, chia seeds, and flax seeds.
Couch cuddles with my littlest love.
More leftovers for lunch.
I dog sat my friend, Alex’s, sweet pups while she was out of town this weekend. She dropped them off Saturday afternoon. Here’s one of them. They’re so cuddly and my girls loved having friends over.
All the pup love.
One of Alex’s pups watched for her Mom to come back for a little bit. She finally gave up and had fun with the rest of us.
I had a girls’ night at my house Saturday night and a few of us went to a concert afterward. (Thank you, friends, for coming over!!) Three of us went to the concert and we decided to take a Fireball shot. Right as I went to snap this picture, Cassie, the one in the middle, spilled her shot on our feet. The fact that I captured that moment made all of us laugh so hard. We had a blast singing and dancing together. I was worried about hurting my foot more, so I wore super cushioned shoes. That seemed to help!
I have been friends with these two for a long time. Cassie, on the right, and I have been friends since we were 15, so almost 16 years now, and Michelle and I have been friends for almost 10. They’re both stuck with me! Michelle is moving back into town at the end of July, so I can’t wait for her to start running with us!
I miss this gal. This is Molly. I got her when I was in high school. We had to put her down a few years ago because of a seizure disorder. It was awful. Jake went with me to the appointment – we hadn’t been dating very long – I ugly sobbed and he comforted me the entire time. Molls was a sweet pup, who got into EVERYTHING. My parents had to keep our bananas on the top of our fridge because Molly would get onto the counters and eat them. Peels and all. She definitely kept us on our toes! Dogs are the best.

These girls were excited for their Momma to come back! All four dogs slept with me Saturday night. It was wonderful. Lu and Rhea cuddled up next to them all night. It was adorable.
Jake got home from Arkansas a little before lunch time, so he picked up Qdoba for us. I had chicken nachos, chips on the side, with no cheese, and all the veggies. It was delicious. I ate this for lunch and dinner yesterday.
Jake was pretty worn out from racing over the weekend. He took a nap and I started on laundry.
I love this girl’s cuddles. She’s such a sweet (but ornery) pup.
I am off to run – wish me luck! I’m hoping to have zero foot pain. I took two days off and things feel better, so I’m hoping that cured whatever I did to my foot. I’ve got a bunch of things on my to-do list for today, so I need to get started on that after I knock out a little run. We are having a garage sale Friday and Saturday, so I’ve got a TON of things to mark – I’ll share more as the week goes on!
Happy Monday, friends!
