Labor Day Weekend Wrap-up!

I hope everyone had a wonderful extended weekend! We spent part of our weekend at home and part of it at the lake.

Our neighbor shared this meme on Friday and I couldn’t stop laughing, so of course I had to share it with all of you.

I got to watch my niece Friday morning. I can’t believe how big she’s getting! My sister and brother-in-law don’t want pictures of her on social media, so this is all you get, but trust me, she is a model baby.

After I watched Eleanor, I came home and had lunch.
I spent the day Friday doing things around the house and working on my computer. When Jake got home from work, we decided we wanted Thai food, but we couldn’t decide if we wanted to go out for it or have it at home. We ended up getting Everyday Thai delivered and holy cow. Hands-down some of the best Thai food we have ever had. I got the Pad Thai with tofu and it was incredible.
We also got spring rolls and they were super good. The peanut sauce they came with was out of this world.
We watched Mission Impossible 3 and bribed the girls with bones so we could watch in silence. HA!
Did you see that Courtney Dauwalter was the first female in UTMB?! You can read about it HERE.  She’s so awesome. Here’s a throwback to when I got to run 18 miles in the mountains with her. The. Best. Day.
Jake and I knocked out a run Saturday morning – we hadn’t gotten to go on a run together in over 2 months! We ran 5, which was my longest in awhile. It felt good! We ran 3 together, then grabbed the girls and ran the last 2 with them.
After our run, we hopped in the van and headed to the lake! We broke out our old CDs…I used to be really into making CD cover art. Hahahaha. So weird. Look at all of these…
We stayed with our friends, Chris and Brittany, and had a blast! Thank you, guys, for having us down!!
Boys and their toys.
The sunset was beautiful.
After spending the day on the water, we headed to a concert. I obviously had too much fun because this is the only picture I took. Kallie and Coty went with us!
After the lake, we grabbed the girls and explored.
Lu loves being in the car.
We took our truck off-roading and just had fun driving around.
We stopped every once and awhile and let these two play in creeks or rivers.
This was the biggest horsefly I had ever seen. It was at least 2 inches long. I hated it.
We wore them out!
Peanut Butter whiskey?! So. Good. It’s sweet, but 100% smells like peanut butter. It tastes like a mixture of butterscotch, vanilla, and peanut butter. I loved it.
Dinner. YUM.
Monday morning, I made breakfast burritos with a bunch of leftovers.
Then I started on meal prep – Jake is having chicken salad this week, which is one of his favorites.
We are having egg muffins for breakfast. These have turkey sausage, asparagus, and mushroom.
We did some relaxing.
Rhea likes pretzels.
This is the BEST stain remover I’ve ever used. It gets EVERYTHING out. I had some red dirt stains in a white tank top and now they’re gone! Highly recommend.
This is how Lu stands on the couch to look out the window.
Forced cuddles are the best cuddles.
My friend, Adrienne, was in town, so we rode bikes to her house and spent some time with her and her Momma. Look at this beautiful charcuterie board she made! It was delicious.
I think I start my new job at some point this week, so I’m excited to get that going! I didn’t fall asleep last night until around 3:30AM, so I bailed on my run this morning. I am going to drink some coffee and knock it out this morning. I haven’t had trouble sleeping in a long time. I hate it! I used to struggle with insomnia, so I hope that isn’t coming back. Oh well, it’s my birthday month, so that’s exciting. ; )
Happy Tuesday, friends!

Hopefully stress / anxiety isn’t leading to your insomnia! I know for me when I am anxious about life I can’t sleep and it sucks! I was wide awake for like 2 hrs last night when trying to fall asleep because of all of the crap on my mind that I couldn’t put to rest! 🙁
May want to avoid the coffee when lacking sleep because then you definitely won’t be able to fall asleep then! 😉
