Yesterday was a whirlwind! I hadn’t heard about starting my new job, so I set out to knockout a bunch of errands. While getting my oil changed, I emailed my new principal and told
him that I was just waiting to be cleared to start. He emailed me immediately that he was calling HR, and within 2 minutes, he was calling me, telling me to come in for my first day! I was shocked and excited. I told him about getting the oil changed in my car, ha, and he told me no rush, just come in when you can. I was walking in to my first day of work an hour later! Before I get into that, I’ll fill you in on the rest of my morning.

This was fun to see! I love that Strava gives you insight into each month of fitness. In August, I was able to run 112 more miles than I ran in July – that’s pretty cool! It’s an improvement, that’s for sure.
Post-hard, humid run. Still so happy to be back doing what I love.
I added a blueberry waffle to my egg muffins. I’m glad I did! YUM.
This throwback popped up in my memories – this was the first time I took a hard fall during a race. HERE. Well, I fell three times. One was a somersault down some gravel (the worst), one was just a small spill down a hill, and one was flat out eating it on a smooth, flat area in front of a bunch of people. HA! I still have some scars from this.
After breakfast, I relaxed with the girls while I sipped on some coffee, then I got started running errands.
I sat down to get the oil changed in our truck at 9AM. At 9:05, I got a call from my principal saying I could come into work whenever I was able. Our truck was finished at 9:30, and this picture was taken at 10. Ha! I’ve never showered or gotten ready more quickly than I did yesterday. I was excited for my first day back! For new readers, I am a Learning Coach at a middle school here in town. I’m in charge of different aspects of intervention in the classroom, so I look at all kinds of data and support teachers in planning lessons, working with students, etc. There’s a lot that goes into it, but those are some of the main things. It’s a dream job!
Jake sent me this picture. It was SO hot yesterday. I don’t know how he does what he does. He’s amazing.
Lunch at school! Spinach, broccoli, chicken, carrots, and coconut aminos. My first day was wonderful!!
Jake found a kayak he wanted to buy in Rogers, AR, which is two hours from us. After I saw my PT for my foot/ankle after work, we hopped in the car and headed that way. The sunset was beautiful.
We grabbed dinner at Local Lime, which was pretty good. We shared ceviche and tacos.
We didn’t get home until 10:45 last night, so it was crazy hard getting up with my alarm to run, but I knew I would regret it if I didn’t. I ran 6 miles – half with Lu and half with Rhea. It was a blast and I loved spending the morning with them. I started working with Rhea on direction commands (straight, left, right). By the end of our run, she had picked it up. She’s so smart, it blows my mind.
