Not much + my Grandma <3

Some days it’s pretty hard to blog. But I have had so many people check-in with me to see how my grandma is doing and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate that. Things are hard right now. We are doing our best to keep her comfortable, I think that is our biggest goal right now. It’s so hard to see someone you love suffer, so we are doing all we can to help with that. Trying our best to take comfort in knowing that God is always in control, even when we don’t understand. Please know that your words of support, comfort, and prayers mean the world to all of us.

Yesterday was a pretty busy day at school, I spent most of my day in classrooms working with students, which I enjoyed. We have so many amazing teachers doing incredible things, I love being able to watch them in action. I had a late night at school with parent teacher conferences, so I took all three meals with me yesterday. I forgot to take a picture of breakfast, but it was protein muffins and a protein shake. Lunch was a bison burger, beets, and pretzel sticks. I am obsessed with bison right now. I cooked these beets in ghee, balsamic vinegar, oregano, and black pepper. They are pretty delicious.

I spent the afternoon working on the computer, then took a break and had dinner. I swapped out my lunch and my dinner yesterday, so I had my chicken taco bowl for dinner. I am still loving these and they keep me super full.
I got home a little after 6, immediately changed into sweats, and sat on the couch for a little bit. I started on laundry, but anytime I was sitting down, Rhea sat on my foot and Lu stared at me.
My Mom called about 8 PM and said my Grandma was coughing a lot and her breathing was raspy, so I hopped in my car and went over. I am so thankful I did. She was much worse than she had been on Sunday. She just stayed in bed on her oxygen. I crawled into her bed next to her and we just cuddled. I got to tell her how much I love her and how special she is to me. My Mom took some pictures of us that I will cherish forever.
Jake was at a meeting, but I texted him and asked him to come over. He came right away and it was amazing to see my Grandma’s face light up when he walked into the room.
Take the time to squeeze the people you love today. ♥️
Happy Wednesday, friends!

Thank you so much for letting us all know how your grandmother is doing. I called her last week. Will call again soon if she is able to talk. We played golf and cards in Kimberling City. She is a very sweet lady and I am so sorry she is going through this. I pray for her and all the family daily. My prayers are with all of you. Wanda Reynolds

Thank you so much, Wanda! We appreciate it. I know my Grandma holds you very dear. <3 She has a hard time talking on the phone and has been getting confused, but I am sure she would love to hear your voice.
