We had a wonderful weekend – it snowed, we got to watch Eleanor, we relaxed, then the stomach flu hit…WOOF. Before any of that, I worked on a few presentations at school and was reminded of some of my favorite quotes – like this one.
Friday was a busy day at work, so lunch happened at some point while I was still working. Chicken taco salad and tortilla chips.
I worked on a presentation for our kiddos for MAP Prep. I threw in a few memes to give them a good laugh while they’re learning about the different types of questions on the MAP.
After school, I did a lifting workout, then met my friend, Kayla, for a beer. Both Jake and her boyfriend worked late Friday night, so we hung out at my house while it stormed. I cooked a chicken breast in the AirFryer and it was amazing.
Rhea sure loves Kayla and wouldn’t leave her side all night.
Poor Jake worked over 30 hours on Friday. It stormed ALL night, and the storms were pretty terrible. We had a lot of flooding, too. Jake didn’t get home until lunchtime on Saturday. The girls and I cuddled Friday night before bed.
I met the girls for a run on Saturday and we got SO lucky – the weather cooperated! The rain stopped and the snow didn’t start until after our run. We could definitely feel the temperature dropping as we finished up our miles, but we were so thankful we didn’t have to run in any precipitation.
The creek that runs through the park by my house was so full of water.Ā It was crazy.
We had a great run and enjoyed one another’s company. It’s so nice to have an awesome group to run with in the mornings.
After our run, we went to B2 Cafe for coffee and breakfast. They have one of the best breakfast wraps. It comes with a red pepper dipping sauce that is amazing. I hate when we aren’t able to run trail, but whenever we run road, we usually always grab coffee and breakfast after, so that helps!
After breakfast, I picked up our groceries, then this sweet babe came over! Poor Eleanor was sick, so she wasn’t feeling well and was pretty cranky, but I soaked up the cuddles. Lu and Rhea were SO excited that she was staying with us. They love when Eleanor comes over.
It snowed like crazy on Saturday. I loved it. We didn’t have to leave the house at all, which was wonderful. It was the perfect excuse to stay inside and be lazy.
When Eleanor went to bed, I made a drink and cuddled with Lu. She was a little jealous of Eleanor, so I tried to give her some attention. Eleanor slept for about 3 hours on her own, then woke up not feeling well, so I slept on the couch with her. She slept through the night just fine once we did that!
Then it was up around 6AM for some more cuddles and breakfast.
Rhea laid like this any time Eleanor was in her pack ‘n’ play.
My sister and brother-in-law came to pick up Eleanor late Sunday morning, then Jake and I headed to lunch. We went to Bricktown Brewery and had their nachos. After lunch, I came home and slept for 2 hours. I was worn out!
After my nap, I started on meal prep. I started not feeling super great late Sunday afternoon, but kept thinking maybe I was just hungry. I made this delicious chicken and potato casserole – it has gold potatoes, chicken, bacon, onion, and broccoli in it. YUM.
For dinner Sunday night, I made coconut flour chicken tenders in the AirFryer, with broccoli on the side. It was delicious, but I was feeling REALLY crummy. I ate all of it, but it didn’t stay with me for long.
About 8PM Sunday night, the stomach flu hit me. It hit hard. From 8PM until about 3AM, I threw up every 90 minutes. It was awful. I think I finally threw up for the last time around 8AM Monday morning. After that, I just felt so awful. I slept most of the day, which helped. My fever would come and go, so would the chills. One minute I would be burning up and the next I would be freezing. The flu sucks.
I walked out to some broken up pieces of a stick or mulch Monday morning. I felt so awful, but knew I needed to clean it up before Rhea could make a bigger mess. Thanks a lot, Rhea. Here’s the worst of it, but she left a trail from our bedroom to the living room.
I needed to run to Walgreens to get some Pedialite, so I attempted to make myself look normal. I just prayed the whole time that I wouldn’t get sick in the store. I didn’t!
All. The. Fluids.
The flu hit Jake on Monday. Poor guy. He worked, then came home and was in bed the rest of the day. I ordered chicken noodle soup from Panera for us for dinner, so I think that helped, but other than that, we both just slept.
I woke up feeling a little bit better, but still not back to normal. I’m going to take today off work again and just rest and try to eat some real food. I hope to go back in tomorrow. Apparently the flu is going around – I don’t want to spread what I have…it’s AWFUL. I am thankful I got the flu shot…I think it helped lessen my symptoms. I had friends who had the flu for over a week…I cannot even imagine that! Wash your hands – you do not want this nonsense.
Happy Tuesday, friends!
